I like your podcast's energy and intentions- but ya'll need to tweak this "comparison" exercise. Comparing artists is silly and childish- and I'm noticing this nonsense seems to be happening only in hip-hop. Both Lupe and this June6 dude (suspicious name) are great in their own right and creative angles- but y'all look pretty silly. And Lupe is one of the GOOD ONES- meaning he's a positive, thought-provoking and responsible artist- which are qualities to be cherished in the morbid landscape of today's music. Why don't you compare Mr. 6.6 to Megan the Stallion or Ice Spice? As a music aficionado who doesn't really listen to Christian rap, and have never heard of June 6, I feel like I'd be more open to giving this dude a listen if you DIDN'T compare him to one of my favorite rappers like this--- I'm inherently going to pick Lupe over him. (BTW, Lupe clearly won almost all the comparisons in my book) Please don't be disingenuous - ya'll KNOW virtuoso flows and well-done beats DON'T make a song appealing. The Christian music I continue to love and play is that uncompromising sound of traditional (black) gospel music (think Union Temple Adult Choir)- that's why i have lot's of classic gospel in my library. I love it's authenticity and security in it's own lane. Christian rappers need to capture THAT essence and stop trying to shoehorn themselves in to the secular world with these thirsty and cheesy comparisons.
