Hey Lora, I love the quilt ,it's looking pretty good. I am a bit behind this week, I had a little accident yesterday afternoon. In front of the Walmart, I missed the step and banged my face on the ciment.. You should see the damage it's not pretty. But this to shall pass and I will work on my quilt this weekend. Love the t-shirt. I am still learning new ways of making my appliques. It turns out so much better than I expected. So thank you again for all your help. What type of iron do you use? I have been looking to buy a new iron and I like the look of yours.

Beautiful job! I noticed you are just straight stitching these pieces on (the applique). Right? Not zig zag or blanket stitch? So pretty - all of it! I know this is slow work, so thanks for showing so much. Am wondering about the long arming you took to your brother a bit a ago for a weekend to work on. Did I miss a flosstube? Did you show us what you did?

Lora, I love how efficient you are with your time and how you share your thought process with the layout of the shapes and the places to adhere so you can lift and sew 🧵 underneath. Your quilt is coming along quickly. On Saturday I completed rows 4-5 and I am so happy with it. Border shapes just need to be ironed and glued to backgrounds which I still p need to cut a lot more. Thank you for hosting because I have moved this quilt to Thursday nights to work on. I started to sew my blocks by row so they can get done that way. I think with this one the book was a must for me to do it by rows. I often wonder why people don’t sew that way. Thanks for the encouragement to get this quilt completed with your videos! Wow Lora!!! Excellent video! I'm almost done with the Tannenbaum quilt by Edyta Sitar and I'm avoiding the hand applique. I've done a few sections but I just don't love the hand sewing. You have inspired me to do machine applique and finish the project that I already have so much time invested in. Thanks!!! I'll be watching all your channel from now on. 🤩

I am wondering how you are cutting a good square edge on your fabric with your round cutter without cutting in to the rest of the fabric. It looks so precise. Thank you

How did you attach your design wall to your closet doors? I have a closet I could do that to. My only Lori Holt "appliqued" quilt I've made I hand stitched. Next one will be using the sewing machine! This is such a cheerful quilt!

Wow. These are great. I was once given two shoe boxes full of some torn pieces, and a little yardage. I have made two quilt tops out of it and both were donated. There is enough left for two or three more tops! And, I may take the larger parts and just piece them together for a back. What a blessing, from someone's mother after her passing. I like to think she's watching where it all ends up! With the big pink star, I would take off the outer white border, and maybe the pink one too, and then bind it into a baby-size quilt. The orange one, if you can't find a home for it as a whole quilt, it looks big enough that I would cut it into 4 pieces, and have 4 baby quilts. That dresden quilt is a real gem. If the holes can't be mended, I honestly think it would make a great jacket, with the scalloped edges as the hems and front opening.

You are so organized. I love the glass with those bias tapes rolls. The quilt will be beautiful.

Lora wow I love the tips you have shared. I love the organization and process you shared. Seeing you appliqué is helpful even the glue process of where to glue and where not to glue! I love that you appliqué the blocks as you finish them. I am on row 4 all the quilt blocks are done but I waited to appliqué at the very end. I finished the appliqué on all but one block because I somehow don’t have the bias on it. I did appliqué the blocks as I finished them when I made the Bee Vintage and I will never to the appliqué at the end! It is so much more productive to appliqué as you make blocks. Also I learned to make blocks by with rows rather than scattered all over. That’s how Bee Vintage was made. I love how you show your organization!!!! When I traced the simple shapes I traced them by numbers 1-9, 10-19, 20-29… and cut them out by the sets 1-9, 10-19, 20-29… so I can easily find the traced interfacing numbers I need for the blocks just a tip I get to share with you 😊. Thanks again for your videos I always look forward to Thursdays to watch your Bee Happy videos. Ok I could have used this tutorial when I started Bee Happy in June 2022 😮. I had trouble with that daisy 🌼 and other shapes. I bought that tool over a year ago and I love ❤️ that you showed how to use it. I never reach for it but now I will for the rest of the appliqué quilts I make. Thank you! I bought the set after your recommendation a while back and then struggle a bit ! Would like a demo on a long shape but presumably yo always have to sew one end closed? I think that’s where I was going wrong on turning a tube!

Lora, thank you so many tips. I did not know about those point turners, I really hate doing those. But I am going to buy that set for sure. I tried something different this time for applique. I had a big package of fusible Pelon. So I decided to use it for these applique shapes. Instead of tracing on the right side, I trace on the glue side. So once I turned the piece it was on the glue side. It was so much fun and quick to applique the shapes to the background after. I tried on scraps before using my good fabric. So maybe someone would like to try it. Waiting to see some of your stitching that is done. I always enjoy looking at what you finished or almost done. Have a great week end and see you soon.
