When I think of Sega, I always think of fun gameplay, memorable characters and just a fun time overall

I don't expect anything but penny-pinching from Sega, mfs are a gambling company first (look up the Sega-Sammy merger, Sammy came on top but kept the name Sega for PR reasons) and can be worse than EA or Actiblizz at times, like with their treatment of Total War games, every game since Shogun 2 has had blood as a fucking DLC

I love Jet Set Radio so much I just hope that Sega doesn't go the live service route because it won't turn out to be good for them or the consumers.

Awesome Video! Can't wait to play Jet Set Radio again. I grew up playing Jet Set Radio Future on the OG Xbox. The Soundtrack was 🔥. I remember being in a call 2 years ago with you and a few others saying I want JSR back. Then when this announcement came I was too hyped lol.

Pokemon is too big to fall after couple bad releases but with franchises like this, they have a slow decay till it suddenly just crashes. My guess is due to how pokemon has released last two generation we will probably see the crash in two or three generations.

I really hope pokemon implements how palworld lets you use pals in the overworld. Like being able to ride and fly etc etc, kinda like lets go

pokemon design love em or hate em, is very creative right now (I don't care if there's just a straight up flamingo in scarvio 1 animal doesn't mean it's uninspired) and Palworld is incredible creatively bankrupt but it's a fun and fresh take on a monster inslaving game pokemon has just been stagnant because there is no competition being the number 1 media franchise in the world with no real competition does that to you Palworld while being an awful uninspired mess design and aesthetics wise is a great thing to exist and explode so pokemon can finally have competition

I find it interesting that you mentioned legends Arceus, because palworld feels like a buffed up version of that game in a lot of ways. I've been saying for a long time now that Legends Arceus did the whole open world thing best and that it's possibly the best Pokemon game (at least from the modern ones). Scarlet and Violet got a lot of hype because they were the first "true" open world pokemon games, something fans have been begging for for a while now. But you can't really tackle the gyms out of order without ruining the fun for yourself with the other gyms. And each area has a set level of difficulty. Every pokemon spawning there will have approximately the same level. In palworld, you can literally do whatever the fuck you want. Each area has a nice mix of high and low level pals, which gives a much more open world and makes it feel much less linear. Me and my boyfriend have been playing in our own worlds, but at the same time. And while he stuck mostly to the middle of the map, I went more towards the edges of the map. And neither of us was in a more advantageous position compared to the other. I'm higher level because I've been putting in a lot of hours, mostly from exploring the outer edges. But my boyfriend found a lot of pals, traders, equipment and even unlocked several recipes that I didn't. Despite playing the same game, we have very different experiences. And that's what a good open world should be like. Yesterday we had another palworld gaming session and we did a race to see who could get to the sanctuary island in the south. Despite lower level and less stamina than me, he actually managed to get there before me because he's been looking into flying pals more than me. I tried to get on and off chillet to reset my stamina bar, which ended up being a bit slower. To be fair, his initial strategy was to try to make use of a glitch he's been having on the Xbox version where it tends to spawn him under the map and such. So I thought I had way more time than I did to do some testing beforehand. Frequently we'd just go "oh, I've caught this pal" and the other would be confused and ask where that can be found, only to realize it's in an area just slightly to the side of where they'd already explored. I feel like the boss monsters in dungeons are what stuff like terra raids should've been. There's still a time limit, but no turn based system and you're not stuck with one pokemon and relying on your ai teammates to not fuck up. They're just like "here's a boss, here's some pals, here's some spheres to catch the boss in and here's a gun. Go wild". The success of games like legends Arceus and pokemon go should've clued in the pokemon company that fans wanted to shake up the formula. And that's further proven with fangames like pokemon Infinite Fusion, pokemon uranium and pokemon sweet. And of course stuff like pokemon too many types (thanks alpharad). Fans have been begging for something new. Not some stupid gimmick that's discarded by the next game, but big changes that permanently shake up the pokemon formula. Scarlet and Violet had some great pokemon designs, but a lot of them are just old designs redone. The paradox pokemon, regional forms and then stuff like wiglett and toadscool. It feels pretty lazy overall. And while palworld has a decent amount of designs that look similar to pokemon ones, they put fun twists on those designs and actually give them character. Depresso is really slow and half-assed in its work, vixy has the fancy favorite walk like a model and seems to boost morale, flambelle is soft and gentle and requires a bit more attention/affection (in my experience at least), chillet curls up into a little ball around stuff it tries to cool, Lupemoon is a tsundere, etc etc. When you look at it, they're pretty small things to give each pal some character. But they're much more impactful by the ways you can actually interact with your pal. In Scarlet and Violet, you have to slowly stroll to have any pokemon even be able to follow you and interacting with it is bending over and seeing them make a happy face. In palworld you can pet it, feed it, pick it up and throw it, give it a gun, give it medicine etc and it runs a little ahead of you, automatically moving to the direction you're facing/moving towards so you can actually see the pal. There's just so many ways it took the best aspects of modern pokemon games (open world and following pokemon, as well as interacting with them, alpha pokemon, the noble fights), improved them and build a bunch of other cool stuff around it. And I know that this was already in production before scarlet and violet were even announced, even earlier that Legends Arceus release if I'm right. But it really does make pokemon look back when the same features are done better in an EARLY ACCESS build of a game. Like, the switch can't handle as much as a pc can. But some of these things are trivially easy to put in a pokemon game for the switch. Also, the size of the creatures in relation to their environment. One gigantic pet peeve I have with scarlet and violet is when tiny pokemon like nimble or smolive are just completely invisible because of the grass assets being slightly taller than them. In palworld, the creatures are all at least the size of a small child. And when I do accidentally run into one, it's because they actually camouflaged properly. Like a rushboar hiding in trees or a dudmud hiding in the swampy foliage. But as long as you pay attention, you are able to spot them before you run into them. And even when you do run into them, you don't need to go through a minute of cutscene animation and menu navigation every time you get a few pixels too close. You can just turn around and run a different way immediately. So you actually stay in the flow, making traveling a lot less annoying and tedious.

Great video man! I've been enjoying Palworld so much as well. Got it like a week or so ago and I've got over 50 hours on it, it's so much fun. Hopefully one of these days we get a server going and have everyone join us in it. Can't wait for Cross-Play as well since it was mentioned on the Road Map for Palworld if I remember correctly.
