i saw them in 1973 in New Orleans, La. i was 19. i'm 70 now and still love Grand Funk.

I was at this show...then later on that summer I saw them at Pine Knob in Clarkston, Mi...last year the originals were all together....

Back when this came out i would do some yellow sunshine, drink some wine and smoke some of mother's finest greens 💨💨💨 and blast this as loud as my system would go ! Now im 68yo and still enjoying mother's finest greenery right now 💨💨💨 and blasting it again on 7-19-24 at 2:50pm from Hagerstown Md as a black man a lot of my friends back then thought that I was a little too strange I would tell them no I'm just a little different !

Well I'll be damned.. To this day I always thought they had a fourth person come in to play the organ, As well as a violin solo if I remember correctly 😌 Anyway this tune caught me by surprise - 1972 I think. 🤔

This sound, yes, this sound. I was only 12 or 13 years old. Rhythm, guitar solo, drums, bass. All of this sounded like something I longed for. nostalgic.

Also if ya dig this song by Grand Funk on youtube you may enjoy Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on CZcams. 😀

You can see and feel the freedom that young musicians felt then , time was spent just playing and playing and creating It truly was an era of creative magic. Modern times often ruin the freedom with all the fake social media and never ending distractions from devices. Including the one i'm on now.
