On my grandma porch , running back and forth across the street to my auntie house. Walking to the store with $20 my grandma gave us . All the drunks, crackheads, and everybody used to stay at my grandma and aunties house Friday-Monday it was like a hole in the wall on the weekends they never went home the music was so loud most times I sat on the porch in a "daze" mesmerized by all the music and crazy shit going on around me sun up to sun down. Drunks everywhere while me and my brothers just laughed and sat in the swings on the porch watching people come and go. My grandma selling liquor out the back door and cigarettes. Somebody was always knocking on the door for something. Lots of sleepless nights staying with grandma while my mama worked 2-3 jobs. I'd go to sleep and wake up listening to Johnny Taylor. I loved seeing my cousins coming down the road with my aunties I knew we were gonna have fun laughing at the drunk folks , eating and watching our grandmas act a fool all night and morning.zThe summers were the longest at my grandmas but funny. Take me back 😢
