It's simply a 3D object painted so that from the front it looks like flat but in perspective. When you move round it, it looks as though it's still flat but moving. Look at it from the side, at the end of the clip, and it all becomes clear.

About mile 16.5 - I live just beside the main road there, and this is a collection of clips taken on several different times I went down to see what was going on - once waiting for the start, then some of the elite women (Liz Skelling was just going past as I got there that time) and then much later some of the main mass of runners.

You should've all come to Europride in Madrid. Almost 2m people, blazing sunshine, no crash barriers and the party's still not over a week after the inaugural party in Chueca.
