How can. I order spline tool maggarads
Can I still get RPF1 17X9 for my mx5 even if engine is stock? Would it still perform well?
Dyno results?
What about 16" wheels?
What’s best size to look flush without spaces?
This is so much easier than the System One.
Yes, but the change on SystemOne is at least 10 times more effective because it has 10 times more packing material in the changeable packed section for that setup.
We did these baffles in our original Fiat 124 System, and they were just not effective enough in that application. So as part of the redesign we went with the choice that is indeed more work, but more than 10 times more effective at giving you more control on the results and two different sound levels.
Great video on coilovers vs shocks. Had a 90, 92 autocross car. Later a 93le with softer bumpstops, and sways. Really fun cars. Currently have a mustang bullitt with magnaride and ford racing suspension. Actually handles well for a heavy car. I may be in the market for an nd soon. Want to do the ohlins and exhaust. I will look up you up later. Thanks for all the good info.
Is this using the Roadstersport dual resonated mid pipe or the catted midpipe
This is with our catted midpipe. Would never recommend a completely catless system for anything but a pure race car that is trailered to the race track.
@@GWRTeam ok Thanks. I thought the header was catted. Thats why i asked
Do you need sway bars with the Ohlins on an ND2 2023 club ( BBS / BREMBO ) ?
Some will, some won't. Pure street use with mild tires doesn't need more. Customers with much more grip and doing track or autocross will still add sways.
Anyone else gave up on there original search ans started looking up hearing aid prices?
If already have Eibach lowering Springs on a Tesla Model 3 Performance, would you suggest adding Tein shocks or Tein Coilovers?
I'm surprised there isn't an aftermarket aluminum valve cover for the NC
There is. Aluminum NC valve cover was found at source in China. Happy to report it works and fit without issue.
@briangoodwin2862 interesting 🤔 I should look into that, thank you for the information
Great thank you 🙏
What is the verdict on Rota wheels? They are made in my hometown so they are by far the best value I have seen for a known brand name. I'm not sure they are particularly light though.
Indeed, weight is the concern with those. We don't carry them because every model we've looked at has been substantially heavier than the options we do carry.
@@GoodwinRacing1 thanks, I feared as much
Does the clearance change with the underbody?
The braces are about an inch lower clearance than the stock braces.
Info about weight, heat shield, and restrictions from resonator?
Need one for a frs brz
I seem to recall that Thermal makes it. WE had a BRZ section on the site for a while and offered it. Our team member with that car left and we pulled down that section from the site because he was our BRZ guy, but my bet is Thermal still makes that exhaust with Helmholtz.
I have the helmoltz on both my NC2 Miata. One is a soft top, with removable hardtop, the other is prht. Both have the super q muffler, the Helmholtz mid pipe. The soft top have the catless header, the prht has the catted street header. Both are very nice, no drive in any situation. Love both setups. I used the catted headset on the prht to keep in cab boominess down.
That's a damn good looking guy, just saying
Thanks for making and selling great products guys!
I installed on my NC1 your super Q first then added the helmholtz straight pipe and your now discontinued Ceramic coated stainless Catted header. Also added your Progress sways at the same time with a remap. It’s been four years now and it all still looks (wish I had a mirror on the floor) like brand new (car rarely if ever sees rain) and sounds perfect. This spring I’m finally moving on to suspension. Considering buying your sport stage one Koni/lowering springs/shocks with End links along with your 8” wide Hypergrams.. Goodwin quality is top shelf. Thanks for tossing so many try’s before finalizing and offering perfection.
I put the 1.6 catted street header and Helmholtz mid pipe on my 2011 PRHT and it’s really fantastic. Quiet cruising and great sound at WOT. It makes the best crackle and pops on downshifts too.
Great to see you guys making videos again!
Excellent explainer!
i have an 07NC 2.0 currently with full RS (roadstersport) system 1.8” max power headers, midpipe w/ 5” CAT, and RS 2 dual exit muffler with baffles removed and mazdaspeed/AEM cool air, its the best sounding 4cyl to me
Keep the informational videos coming! It's great to hear about how much effort you guys put into developing parts for us. Plus learning how they work.
Excellent video. Will the axle back sound good too?
Yes, for the same reasons. The 99-05 axle back RoadsterSport 4 has a Helmholtz chamber too.
I don’t suppose the subframe brace is compatible with the verus aero panels right?
which one of these lug nuts would fit on a 23 club rf with the bbs wheels ? ty
All our choices on the site in Miata sections will fit all Miata factory wheels. I have a set of the factory BBS wheels myself. With those factory BBS wheels I have used both our black McGard lugs and Black RoadsterSport Closed End Lugs.
@@briangoodwin2862 awesome. Thank you for the feedback!!
Loved this - exactly what I needed and no 19 year old sharing his life story on a selfi cam while wandering around his driveway
I just installed the sub frame bracing on my ND2 and the difference in feel is very noticeable. In a good way. My take is the car is not as tail happy as it was before and I don’t think the body roll is as extreme. The job is straightforward but took me longer than you tube leads one to believe. Of course this is the first car I have ever taken a wrench to. One note is the oil pan cover does not quite line up the same as stock resulting in the need to omit two bolts. The plan is to take a fox tail file to the two errant holes and enlarge them just a touch.
7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum is about 90% of the strength at about 1/3 the weight of steel.
Thanks!!!!! you help me to choose the best option!
I have stock 17x7 on my 08 gt. It has 225/45 on it Why would anyone go up to a 17x8 just to have the same width tire? What changes when you have a wider wheel with the same width tire?
No idea Street on road But use in my banshee over 15year more smooth must be know how to adj.C.&R dam. 🤞
I just bought 4 15x9s on accident man I'm screwed I mean to get the 15x7s
I like how you address the concerns about aluminum, especially for track use. I was wondering about that
I actually prefer the aluminum on track weekends. Often changing wheel/tire combos on the car, sometimes changing brakes start and end of the weekend. So, the lugs get a lot of use and often rushed getting them on and off. If you cross thread and gall with steel lug then the stud is toast and some of the studs are not easily changed. If you cross thread and kill an aluminum lug no big deal, we always have a bag of spares in the track box for the car. I have seen guys have their entire track weekend go to hell right at the start because they rushed a steel lug on and destroyed the stud and missed first track session of the day trying to change out the wheel stud. With aluminum lug you risk only the lug when in a rush, and grab another as needed. So, if you use the steel choices just take your time, which is sometimes easier said than done on track weekends.
I have been a car nut working on my own cars since the late 70's. One of the things that really impress me about Goodwin is that you never get the hard sell on the higher priced items. It is refreshing to hear a company say that perhaps you don't need our most expensive part and that the cheaper option may in fact be the best for you and your car. That being said I find the ride a little harsh with my Koni shocks and Progress Springs....I found the Roadster springs to be even more harsh....maybe I need the Ohlins after all?
Tires and pressure setting? Assuming Koni set to soft try a bit less tire pressure, like 26psi instead of 28psi. Can also try taller tire next time for more rubber between you in the road, 215/45 on stock wheels rides a lot softer than stock 205/45. To really get more rubber cushion consider a drop to lighter 16 inch wheel with 205/50 tire.
thanks Brian, for some reason I find the shocks a little better when they are set more on the stiff side. Maybe that is because I am only adjusting the rebound if I understand the Koni settings correctly? I did try slightly less pressure in the tires but could go a little lower. I like my BBS wheels too much to switch to 16". When I had the Roadster sport springs I found them very stiff on bumps and noticed quite an improvement when I installed the door bushings. @@briangoodwin2862
Nice sound, Fort Christmas Rd is a pretty nice drive.
You answered my questions in the first three minutes and other videos used too much jargon. Well done. Thank you.
This is the most useful video I've ever seen for fitment options on the NC. Saved for a later time when i have some money...
I’m sorry my shot sounds like it’s stock I bought the muffler and the carb legal catalytic converter
Please invest in a better mic, I can barely hear you
Where did you get the front lips and front side wings!please give the links thanks!!
5 lugs.. Interesting. Matte finishes are difficult to keep clean. Still very cool these exist
Would this fit on stock wheels?
Standard 17x7 stock wheels require a 3mm spacer for both 4 and 6 piston caliper upgrades and the 12.88 Big Brake Kit. The 17" BBS wheels that come on the Brembo equipped cars do not need a spacer. There is an option to purchase the 3mm spacers on the product page for each brake kit.
Like the explanation, but why did you have the spring perch upside-down on the Koni? Might confuse someone dropping in to watch before they head off to install their own.
Just bought a 2023 MX-5 GT a month or so ago. Ordered the Goodwin Roadstersport Race muffler, no baffle. I love it! Sound comparable to a 1960 Austin Healey with its split manifold and two exhaust pipes and mufflers.
Too quiet bru, bring mic closer
The best video regarding a detailed explanation of the suspension. Thanks
