      Glad my video helped. My first fifteen years as a military and civilian LEO, I was issued nothing but double action revolvers. (1977-93) I then was issued a S&W 5943 9mm double action only, from 1993-1999. From 1999-2010, I was issued a Glock m23 gen 3, .40 S&W. At first, I knew nothing about trigger reset. I would slap the trigger, until a good training Sergeant who had gone to a Glock armour 's school showed me how to use the trigger reset when shooting.. My range qualification scores then shot up to the upper nineties. Helped me a lot.😊

      Sorry to hear that. If you have low serial number, it could be the extractor. Early models had extraction problems. Hand loaded ammo, limp wristing, or improper grip, can do it too. Have you shot it too with the same problem?

      @@LoneStarLawman Just got worried they were trying to get greedy. I subscribed. Excellent review. It's a lot of bang for the buck at $300. While it wouldn't be my first pick for duty use, a security officer on a budget may want to consider this or the duty model over absolute garbage on the market place in the same price range. I am thinking about picking one up and running it through it's paces on the range. I would like to add a sub $500-600 1911 to my list of recommendations. My SIG 1911 Texas Edition is out that price point. Purchased it for about 800 at Academy.

    I have the US Army 1911A1 version. It came with the A1 wide spur hammer. By the way, the parkerizing is Manganese Phosphate. I'm not sure it the Tisas is Parkerized or the modern cerakote stuff. Also the gun was designed to be carried cocked and locked. I put Ivory US Army scrimshaw grips on mine, made by Altamont.

    The discoloration you mentioned sometimes seen on the top half of the magazine is from not wanting to harm the temper in the magazine lips that hold back the rounds. I'm wishing I had bought one of these. Not sure but I'm guessing that Tisas wasn't licensed to stamp "USMC" on their product. That alone would make this particular gun at least somewhat collectible. I saw this 1911 on Buds and it sold out and hasn't been in stock since while the army counterpart has been in and out of stock which means it has maintained production.

    • @LoneStarLawman
      @LoneStarLawman Před 5 měsíci

      They might have another run of them, if the demand for goes up. I would write, email, or call Tisas to let them know. At least, they can tell you if more USMC 1911A1, are in production.

    • @MrMoist-vk6ce
      @MrMoist-vk6ce Před 5 měsíci

      I hope so. I know Colt had a similar situation with their M45 and they were stamping USMC on it and selling it to the public without the proper licensing. That roll mark has been discontinued so the ones out there are it.

    💙 my SA-35. I’m past 3,000 rounds and not extractor issues. I was told that the extractors were fixed at around the HP12000 mark of the serial number. My serial number is at the HP18xxx mark. I did however buy a CNC machined BHSpring solution extractor and spring, in anticipation of a possible fail at around the 1,000 round count that the first run guns were notorious for having. But I’m well past that count so no worries.
