100KW in texas costs $0.24 per kw.. that is $24 per charge. Divide by 300 miles.. that is $.08 per mile. My truck gets 20 miles per gallon at $3.09. That's $0.1545 miles per gallon. It is cheaper.. until the electric distribution company Reliant charges you another $408 per month for the transformer they have to maintain to provide you that peak demand draw when you charge your EV.
The only true answer to our problem is hydrogen fuel cell cars they use all the same parts except for the fuel system and you can use a solar panel at your own house to produce as much hydrogen as you want from water. Its the best option thats why we don't have it yet

Two things - 1 - Lots of the problems with the power grid in California is specifically due to PG&E; an awful, inept, unethical company that everyone hates. I live in the SMUD district and have experienced 2 power outtages, in total, in the last 5 years. Each less than 60 minutes. 2 - You didn't mention anything about California's building out of battery storage systems intended to address this issue. Battery storage has gone from 770MW in 2019 to 6,600 MW in 2023. Should hit 8,500 MW by end of 2024. Perfect? No. However, they have put these issue into consideration and steps are being taken to address them. That said, I think the mandate is stupid and it won't go as planned.
Yes, doubling or tripping their energy need while they try to shutter coal and nuclear energy sites. Nuclear and coal energy provides our base load for the US grid. That is as moronic as what Germany has done and now they’re struggling for energy and having to buy expensive price gouged fuel from Russia to compensate.

I like the info. Of course the prices are going to keep going up for along time to come. Mostly because we are in a start (and no where near the end) of inflation. The supply and demand for housing is a slave to inflation. While you think it's going to go down in spring. You'll be surprised when it up higher and faster by % then last year. This has everything to do with the supply and demand of the money it's self. Houses are not worth more, the money is worth less. So you need more and more as it works it way through. Look at the US money supply. The debt goes up and so do prices. We are now almost 22 trillion where as in 2008 we were at 8 trillion. That is money now in the economy and making it's way through. It is slow to start, but it's going to speed up as it goes. For example Argentina's Inflation. (see link below) www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-09-13/argentina-s-inflation-rate-hits-highest-level-of-macri-era We will have massive price increases in all goods and services as it goes, until it becomes a problem that will continue to grow . And not just housing. Although housing is always at the top of what the market can bear. We are nowhere near the end, more than likely, not even in 10 years. Just a little food for thought.
