The statement of what weight not to take is a ridiculous statement! I take up to 22kg in large backpack in winter. Why can I do this, because one I am used to it, and two because I am a large guy and strong at 62 years old. Each person individually knows his ability and strength, and endurance. Take what is comfortable for you on a long hike and mountain camp. Hear this all the time and it is a misnomer from the get go!

Fun fact: The well known movie “Harry potter” has the hog-warts express and the train drives over that bridge multiple times to get to the hogwarts castle!

DO NOT GO CLIMBING HILLS WITH WARM WEATHER CLOTHES ON, SHORTS AND TSHIRTS HAVE NO PLACE HIKING HILLS the weather will change soo fast on you, b4 you can comment youve went from 20 degree sunshine to near freezing and the first whisps of snow. Trust me scottish weather isnt like what your used too(even in middle of summer)

What about the beautiful Scottish nature like in the back is actually just desolate land stripped and deforested to the point that it’s pretty much a dead zone like the entirety of the Scotland. You have some stuff on the coast living in the crags but the interior is absolutely barren. Most folk think Scotland’s hills, mountains, valleys, and glens are pristine and untouched natural beauty but it’s anything but natural. It’s all gone. These are scars in the background.
