Kind Grinds & Sweat Stance Flow | Yoga for Skaters | 30 min
Happy National Yoga Awareness Month Roller Skaters! This week’s Yoga for Skaters practice is inspired by kind and sweat stance grinds - this year these grinds have been the focus of a lot of my summer skate sessions! Whether you’ve got these grinds on lock or are looking to get started with them on your skates, this practice includes stability, mobility and strengthening poses to build your skills and confidence for these two grinds.

Quit You didn't wear helmet elbow knee pads wrist guards. Yeah do yoga karate kungfu better than skating qiut. Injurys people fall off rails etc slam on cement. Nit wirth ut. What you saying you will injurmre bad if you land hard on cement.

When it comes to gear, I think we can give each other the benefit of the doubt that we are assessing personal risk and taking appropriate measures to protect ourselves. I encourage skaters to use the amount of gear that suits their personal skating style and skill set - only the skater themself knows that. Skate comfortable, find what works for you!

Hello, I found your channel because I searched really specific yoga exercises for skaters and I am not disappointed. Thank you so much for your videos ! I am not used to quick flows like yours but this is quite a challenge for me ! I quite like the pigeon pose, is it bad if I stretch a longer time in this position ? Have a nice day !
Hi there! So glad you found Y4S and are finding it helpful! On this channel, I try to include a variety of practices so you can find what works for you. It is for sure doable to hold your pigeon pose longer, especially if it is feeling good! Generally speaking, prior to skating we want to move through more dynamic stretches, that is stretches that we don't hold for long whereas after skating, we can lean into more static stretching, or stretches to hold for a longer amount of time. I encourage you to browse the channel as you will find restorative and slow flows for days you want to recover and lengthen as well as flow classes that will challenge your pace and strength. All forms have their place, I can't wait to hear what you find and what works for you!

Definitely a personal choice but yes that can make a difference -- I also find having my feet as close to the ground (short wheels, low trucks) can be helpful!
A group of us did this warmup before a 7 hour skate day, and it was so perfect! Very well-rounded and approachable for all levels. Got us ready to shred!
