It's such a missed opportunity that the *one* good special Dark type in gen 2-3, Houndoom, isn't available before the postgame in any game until Platinum. I've played with a hacked-in Houndour several times because I really like it.

I dont remember if warm body was in R,S,E. But if you are doing the bike on the slope way of leveling at daycare. Collect 5 eggs in your party and have warm body pokemon in the first slot. Speeds up the hatching.

Using payday and thief on the rich folks nets you about 8k a match not including the free nugget you get. (The rich boy, rich lady, the gentleman (guys that look like butlers), also if I remember right, you can check the beaches ever 12h to get more free items [nugget quality items if your lucky])

The only thing I find it disappointed in Pokemon Emerald is wild Pokemon level cap never reach 50 ... I mean they even barely have wild pokemon level higher than lv 40s (except some in victory road and wild smeargles) while in Ruby and Sapphire you prob find those lv 40s+ in Sky Pillar (it got nerfed by 10 levels though 😂) even pokemon gold/silver/crystal have wild pokemon lv higher than 50 in Mt.Silver ...other than that is very good .

Did this on my second run on Platinum, my boy Son Wukong had Nasty Plot, Overheat, Grass Knot and Close Combat 😂 it reminded me of Iron Valiant doing the same with Calm Mind, Moonblast, Psychic and Close Combat. Infernape did it before Iron Valiant made it broken.

I prefer not to do this in Emerald as the NPCs tend to call your PokéNav @ random… If possible - go to a dungeon I don’t _think_ they call you when you’re in a dungeon. I prefer Team Aqua’s base outside of Lilycove. Every title before Alola has a spot like this share you can afk grind the Pokémon DayCare… and iibh? I kinda miss it 😅

Platinum's roster is kinda nuts when you think about it. So many strong pokemon.

Very unpopular opinion: I don't consider berries very useful in battle. I prefer non-consumeable held items that gives an extra edge for a particular Pokémon. Keep in mind though that I have never considered playing Nuzlockes. Although, after my recent playthrough of Pokémon Pearl on the DS, my team was mostly 10 levels underleveled and barely won with only 16 HP on my last Pokémon with Cynthia, yet each Pokémon played a huge part in my strategy. So, I accidentally did a minmax playthrough. To be honest, usually forget I even have berries as I have held items that compliment each Pokémon in my part very well.

Lol t hats great. i remember doing this in the "moving floor zone" where there is some tiles that push you. but this is much better most likely and way faster in the game aswell.

Breloom was a real surprise fave for me- I'm usually not a fan of fighting types, but I always like having a leech seed mon on my team, and then suddenly I was just bulking up and mach punching everything I came across. Wheeee! Mudkip, on the other hand, was not a surprise at all. I love water types, the later ground typing is awesome and the design is adorable. Even before I played Emerald, I knew mudkip was going to be my favorite starter and i was correct.

Berries are really useless. Countless battles where the ai has done back to back status effecting moves(so you lose the berry and still get the status effect), whereas I could instead have a held item that boosts the Pokémon’s power for every turn. I’ll never be able to justify berries 😂

I only recently started to "metagame" deciding to use a pokemon with frisk and thief/covet (if i misunderstand Covet, feel free to correct me) just to get items. Between that and using 5-6 lvl 100 linoones.

i'm actually that rare person who does not think emerald is better than RS. There are some things it does better, sure, but i really don't like most of the story changes. The additional interactions with Team Magma in the late game really hurt the game's pacing imo, and it makes no sense whatsoever that nobody seems to care about Groudon being awakened. The attack on the space station in particular just distracted from what should be the most important thing right now (stopping team aqua). Steven also worked way better as a champion than Wallace did; he actually has story presence throughout, as opposed to wallace who just shows up in sootopolis and then randomly in the champion's room. We did not need another water boss, especially since we already had a gym leader and an evil team dedicated to that type. I should add that i'm not really into postgame battle facilities, so the battle frontier doesn't do much for me.

If you want to have both Protect and Dragon Claw on your Salamance at the same time, heartscale is the way to go: Level up your Bagon to 49 and evolve it to Shelgon. Use a Heartscale to teach it Protect (only Shelgon can learn it) then level it up to 50 to evolve once again. Now you have Dragon Claw, Protect & Fly at the same time. Maybe Crunch on the last slot?
