The sadest love story
If you haven’t seen The English with Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer, you should see it. It’s a six part miniseries about an Englishwoman who has come to America in 1890 for one purpose: to kill the man responsible for her son’s death. By sheer luck, she crosses paths with an American Indian who reluctantly agrees to allow her to ride with him on their northward journey. You will get to see the West as I have never seen it, and I have watched Westerns my whole long life. All of the characters are larger than life; the acting could not have been better. The casting is perfect. In fact, the whole production is the best on film I have ever seen. I sincerely hope that they will do another season. Enjoy!
My heart. I just finished this series and I cried. Such a beautiful portrayal of a couple with a deep connection despite the circumstance. I doubt there will be a continuation but im my mind Eli and Cornelia remained with each other.
I finished the series last night and I've been rewatching the last two episodes today. Seeing again where all these different storylines tie together. I can't put into words how it makes me feel. Happy? Sad? Hopeful? Very well written, beautiful scenery and haunting music. I won't forget it.
