as I watch this movie back again after seeing it in late 2020, I see it very differently now I see that it compares how american culture treats young women to how a 'foreign' culture, in this example kazakhstan, treats young women (note: I don't know so much about kazakhstani culture tbh srry). the film shows us a metaphoric depiction of how a father may treat his daughter in a less 'civilised' country however, throughout the film, many of the american people in the scenes show that they are completely happy to be abusive to women, such as: giving daughters as gifts purchasing a cage for daughters completely changing their looks, personality etc to be a sugar baby advise on abortions knowing that a father impregnated a daughter in a secretive way sell their 'debutantes' at a ball for 500$ sexually attacking a young girl if her father wasn't there (I know there are many other examples of fucked up ways of treating humans in this film, but I think these ones reflect the point of willingness to accept such terrible behaviour towards another human, especially a minor) the ways that this film depicts the 'foreign' and 'uncivilised' cultures is not so distant from modern american culture. gross pretty scary and disgusting shit, especially when you consider how many of the modern global elites have ties to jepstein, a well known pedophile, human trafficker, and financial fraud the icing on the cake that is this film is when uncle Rudolph genuinely gets caught - keep in mind his close ties to the jepstein circles. crazy times, friends
