This is an incredibly stupid message. People make assumption because it works, it leads to better outcomes on average. Pointing out that sometimes people make mistakes, and using this as a reason to not make assumption, is simply insane. Because just like there are a few people with Down's syndrome and normal IQ, there are a lot more with very low IQ who can't do those things and would get hurt if people didn't assume.

There are societal barriers that must be demolished, if doing something a different way will make it easier for handicapped people than we should change the way it's done 🏺. What’s sad is that the assumptions that Down syndrome people can’t often starts before they are born. I’m a father of a 2 year old Down syndrome girl and she brings my family much joy.
