A lovely walk in the Bernese Oberland mountains from the top of the Allmendhubel funicular to Grutschalp following the Mountain Trail. Spectacular views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau along the trail with Tschuggen and Männlichen above Wengen on the opposite side of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and Schynige Platte in the distance.

Holidaying in Cornwall near Penzance we visited the restored and fully working steam powered beam engine at the old Levant Tin Mine now in the hands of the National Trust. Circular walk around the Grindelwald Glacier Canyon

The walk takes the footpath next to the main entrance to the gorge climbing high up to the side of the canyon. The high level footbridge across the canyon gives a spectacular view of the glacial meltwater river rushing through the steep sided gorge.
Interlaken to Iseltwald by ferry on Lake Brienz (Brienzersee) Jun2023

After spending the day in Lauterbrunnen and Mürren, we returned to Interlaken before taking the ferry on Lake Brienz back to our hotel in Iseltwald. From Interlaken the ferry initially follows the Aare river channel before entering the main body of the lake. The turquoise water of Lake Brienz is surrounded away from Interlaken, by steepsided tree-lined mountain slopes.
