Well he is holding his hand inside the lego structure the entire time. Don't you think one with an intermediate skill in 5 minutes would be able to locate the 2 of diamonds in a sorted deck, put it inside the box through a a slit and close the clay wrap? You can even see the clay opening at 6:14. The dumbest trick ever.

The real magic is that he fooled them a second time with the same exact card (2 of diamonds) just like the first time.

This was the beginning of the end for this show, as far as integrity goes. This was a set up, he is a close friend of P&T. It was a put on. An act. After this, they caved in to the fearmongering the pand-em-ic caused and still to this day they do it. A fake audience, fake fools, they have lost all integrity and have caved to the reality TV protocol. Which is a damn shame considering how Penn has gone on and on about truth and integrity. The show is bogus. And that's a damn shame.

I dont know exactly how he did it but that was a long time with his hand hidden in the box after the selection was made. Plenty of time to index a card put it in the box put battery in the alarm and mash a flap in the clay to seal... Sometimes i wonder if every fooler really fooled them.. Just sayin..

I can only guess that the alarm goes off when triggered by the key? Thus allowing him to get the card into the box without the alarm going off and setting the mold after.

The method is irrelevant.. the performance was impeccable. Beautifully done Jandro !

What would advice would you give to someone who wants fool Penn and Teller

Easy trick. 13 pins x 4 sides. Each side have 13pins , the pin hole through which you insert the screw driver to remove the box, the respected card is printed in it. Easy to manufacture it.

Using electronic ink panels would be an easy way to perform this trick! I think the dominoes served another purpose and that is to afford some time to get that domino marked up

I think he straight up puts the card in the box while his hand is inside the lego enclosure. Obviously the box itself is gimmicked to have a small opening somewhere. The clay can be peeled back and then reformed so it looks like it was never touched, clever use of materials. Anyway, I think Jandro has the 40 possible cards in there with his hand. You notice that he asks Teller the suits in order, not for him to just pick one. This gives him time to get to the right place, or grab the correct pile. Same for the number, he does a fair bit of stalling so that he can grab it and put it in the box. When he has the right card in the box, the other 39 cards are hidden, probably in the table or up his sleeve. P&T were totally expecting something else which is why they were fooled so bad. The method is so insane that they didn't even consider it.

Whenever i see a trick explained, most of the commenters claim they knew how it was done all along and it was obvious. So im looking for them here and im not seeing them. I don't claim to be an expert. If he didn't peak at the number ahead of time then i would say the blocks are gimmicked to have the lines selectable like an old digital clock. He said "i didn't look" not that someone else didn't and told him. That's my first guess. But i still appreciate magic performed well and these magicians are very skilled in general on this show. Shim Lim is my fav ever since the 1st time i saw him fool P&T. Incredible dexterity. But I don't believe he can't still play piano.

One end of the clay block looked like it was pinched together incompletely, so I would assume that it started open earlier in the performance. At which point Jandro was going through his edge marked deck of cards to extract the 2 of diamonds, and simply slid it into the box through a slit in the side, then pinched the clay back together, hid the rest of the cards in the base of his prop (or in a hollowed out larger block of legos, which why he wanted Penn to stop breaking it apart). Maybe I'm missing something, but this seems like one of the less mystifying foolers..

Was a cool trick. Only thing I didn't like is that his left hand was hidden the entire time. I get it went with the story, but I've always liked when you could see all of a magician and they find perfect times to do the dirty work is all.

There are 52 cards but Penn is only allowed to choose up to 10. Reason for this very surely though I don't know what. Also I feel P and T just give up for the only time I can remember and make no attempt to challenge him.

Oh man, that was a what magic is all about. Pure mystical fun! What a great act! There’s only one way I think he could’ve pulled it off. It would involve a stacked deck (so he could count to the card without looking), and a box… that was gimmicked in a way that he could slide in the correct card and even hide the rest of the deck (the bottom wasn’t alarmed, just the top). Then he used a flattened sheet of clay so he could easily wrap it up. 🤔 Well, that’s my guess. What do y’all think?
