Half of your problem is that Africa is not a race buddy… Negroid is a race, Egyptian Arabs associate being African with being “black” so why would you expect them to see you as part of their people? The people in Egypt today aren’t even the same people that were there 5000-4000 years ago.

RACISM IN LATIN AMERICA IS JUST AS PREVALENT BUT IT EXIST IN A DIFFERENT MANNER THAN THE USA. Mixing was encouraged in Latin America in order to whiten the communities in Latin America especially after slavery was phased out and they had lots of african and indigenous slaves left over in the population predominately in countries who had lots of African and Indigenous slave labor such as Mexico+Central America, Colombia, Brazil. While in the USA, after slavery was abolished segregation was still in placed and interracial marriage and mixing was illegal and/or stigmatized. Both trends were based in racism but ended up different in style and outcome. To separate people there had to be ways to do so through laws and polcies which then developed into the SYSTEMATIC and STRUCTURAL racism in the US, while it was not as explicit as in Latin America (there are of course some exceptions). In very simplistic terms I would say that racism in the USA is both structural and cultural but in Latin America it is way more cultural than it is structural (even though there will be some classism that is structurally built through the centuries of corruption and resources stolen from them by USA, Europe etc; some of the classism will coincide with the impacts of cultural racism).

Any latino that has spent a considerable amount of time immersed in Argentinian culture will tell you that the “superiority” complex is not really what people think it is. It is not as noxious as thought bc of the paradox of Argentinian culture of being very negative towards themselves as often as they are positive. This back and forth is done very passionately and contributes to outsiders viewing them as not only arrogant and always joking around but also very cynical, gloomy, serious which seems contradictory to some degree. Because of their history of ups and downs in terms of their history, economy, sports, etc. the highs become very high bc the lows very low. For example, to them they feel an immense degree of pride for the achievements they have because of the context they are in such as horrible economy, political situation which they always complain about amongst themselves and to world about. Combine all of that with the various cultures that have been mixed in over the centuries, the passion can come across as overbearing. Also, South Americans have less migration to other coutries compared to Central America or Caribbean so they are more in their own bubble. So in Argentina it becomes a norm for everyone to speak to each other a certain way which to others would come across as arrogant but Argentinians didnt grow up hearing that message bc if everyone is arrogant then no one is… VERY IMPORTANTLY, it is critical to distinguish people from Buenos Aires and the rest of the country. Argentina has one of the lowest migration rates so most of them stay in Argentina. The few that leave either on vacation or permanently are from Buenos Aires and those with lots of money (remember that argentina is in a horrible state economically). The of those that leave, the most rich ones end up going to the US and the rest of them are the still relatively rich that end up going to Spain. So the most haughty, stuck up people from argentina end up going to the US and representing argentina in a bad light and most other latinos DO NOT have actual exposure to other latino cultures or ever visit other latino countries so the first time a Mexican-American or Puerto Rican American meets an Argentinian will most likely be in the United States. Imagine a culture as a mild baseline of communication that can come across as strong has the extreme versions of that attitude/communication style sent to be the representation of the country.. Imagine if the most stereotypical “American” population or Americans who display the WORST of American attitudes was primarily the only American group of people who moved abroad or vacationed abroad… it would paint America in a tremendously worse way then they might already be. Keep in mind, the other cities and provinces see the term porteños (term to describe from someone from Buenos Aires) as a negative thing!!!! The port that received the majority of the immigrants is in Buenos Aires and explains why they look might look a certain way, while if you go to the north of argentina you have more indigenous culture and heritage.

Mexicans, Peruvians, literally ALL Latin American countries are very racist bc race has a VERY different history or view than the USA. Same degree of racism but in a different way! Research about how Pele was impacted by the racism in Brazil or how certain Central American countries had literal laws banning black people well into the 1970s-80s… In Mexico, they suffer a huge amount of colorism that has impacted their media which is why the movie ROMA was a big deal bc they had major film with a Mexican actress with strong indigenous features and heritage. In general, ALL atinos are NOT politically correct and will make lots for jokes about your physical appearance and even make it your nickname such as “gordo”, “flaca” “blanca” “Guero” “morena” “Turco” etc. This is seen ALLLLLL over Latin America.

You will experience a degree of racism everywhere! Also remember the impact of when countries outlawed slavery on history…Brazil was the top country for the slave trade! Uruguay had some black people because argentina and Uruguay were one territory and Uruguayan region was the port for slavery!

I've met Egyptians, and they identify as African. One guy I met felt very strongly about being Egyptian and even more strongly about being African. Unfortunately, Egypt has been diluted by many ethnic Mediterranean peoples. This mix changed some of the very old ethnic Egyptian people, progressively, and over centuries. The reality is that today's Egpytian is not the old Egyptian. It's like me claiming to be African when I know my blood has been diluted. I am not the African my ancestor was. To suggest otherwise is nonsense. To compound the issue, colonialism has had a profound impact on self-esteem, self-identity, self-love, self-value, and self-perception. To add, the problem is exacerbated by complexion, ethnic identity, skin texture and skin color of one of the most diverse groups of peoples on Earth, given Africa has over 1.3 Billion people, ovee 3,000 ethnic tribes, over 2,000 languages, and religious and cultural identities. The caste stain that coloniaism has left on people is pretty disgusting and highy deep seated. So, I am not surprised. Being African is not a monolith. Being off color is not a monolith. Being African American is not a monolith. We should change how we view ourselves and identity. Otherwise, we could end up trying to fit into someone's view of you. Be yourself.

Moses hand turned Leprous (a white turning skin color)as snow.(they compared their skin to objects or things back then, to give a description of themselves they best way they knew how God wanted to show his power thru miracles to the Israelites and he started with Moses. Turning a white skin color hand white isn’t a miraculous mighty work. So Moses the Hebrew Had to be a darker complexion The Bible says his skin color changed(Exodus 4:6) God even made it clear that Shem (Hebrew Blacks) were Different then the Ham-Hametic/nonhebrew-blacks(Egyptian, Ethiopian, etc) black shemite Moses married that Egyptian Black woman Zipporah...The black Hamatic ancient Egyptian people made drawings of themselves ✍🏾on the wall exactly how they looked like in the world back then (would you draw yourself any color opposite of what you look like. No! Neither did they …they didn't play about looks&culture and drawings of themselves either) Those Hieroglyphics on the walls of those Pyramids has darkskin & lightskin people in their Egyptian attire (their swag & makeup) Also Joseph who was a Hebrew black Shemite man dressed in Egyptian attire and was unrecognizable (Gen42:8) Now we know if Joseph was as white skin color AMONGST those ancient, Hamatic non/hebrew Black, darkskin/lightskin, hieroglyphics on the pyramid wall, Egyptian people Joseph would've been EASILY 00 recognizable ...but because Joseph was black in skin color in Egyptian attire & Egyptian makeup amongst other blacks(the ancient Egyptians in their clothing & makeup) made him unrecognizable.

I wonder why the obsession of many Americans wondering why there are no black people in Argentina. Many times those who give their opinion are people who have never visited the country or have not studied our history. They are people who do not know that Argentina's independence process began in 1810 and ended in 1816 with the declaration of its independence. Nor do they know that the founding fathers of Argentina in 1813, that is, before declaring independence, began the process of eliminating slavery. In 1813 they established that the children of slaves born after that time were free persons. Also in 1813 they established that slaves entering Argentine territory became free persons. The latter was difficult to implement since it was feared to bother Brazil, whose invasion was feared at the same time that the Spanish were still being fought. According to the census of 1778 (22 years before the beginning of the independence process), in Buenos Aires, 13% of the population was mulatto (mixed race between black and indigenous) and 17% black. In 1810 the population of the city was only about 45,000. The U.S. government envoy present in Argentina in 1817/1818, H.M. Brackenridge, noted in his report to his government that the black population in the Argentine territories was not relatively as numerous as it was in North America and that the army was made up of approximately 25% blacks, while noting that slaves received better treatment. From 1820 to 1829 Argentina lived through a civil war and then a period, until 1853, it remained without being able to organize itself legally. It was not until 1853 that a constitution was passed which established that “In the Argentine Confederation there are no slaves: the few that exist today are free since the swearing in of this Constitution; and a special law will regulate the compensations to which this declaration gives rise. Every contract for the purchase and sale of persons is a crime for which those who celebrate it, and the notary or official who authorizes it, will be responsible”. In 1860 the Constitution was modified adding that “And the slaves that in any way are introduced are free by the sole fact of stepping on the territory of the Republic”. In 1910, the census showed that the population of Argentina was 1,870,000 inhabitants, of which 25% of the population was European immigrants. Being a country where racism was not a problem, there was a great miscegenation of immigrants with the local population. According to DNA studies, 5% of the population, two and a half million Argentines, have black ancestry, even if they do not have black features on the outside. I do not understand why the teaching and resentment against Argentina for not having a black population. Argentina has always received and receives immigrants and has never had racial problems. Just ask any immigrant who has actually chosen Argentina to live and you will see that Argentina is not a racist country. We have many problems, economic stagnation, impressive inflation, corruption, ineptitude of politicians, but racism, thank heaven, is not one of them. It is as if they wanted to replicate in Argentina the history of the United States and project in Argentina aspects of the United States. They are very unfair to Argentina. It is important to know its history well and to ask non-Argentines who have chosen Argentina to live.

What there is is contempt for other "nationalities" or people from other countries (even if they are white, a Spaniard can tell you that when we call him Galician), since we can't stand being mistreated and we slap back. We can say that when we welcome someone with open arms, since that is what we usually do, we do not like them coming to our country to criticize us, steal, or take advantage of us. This also applies to those who exclude themselves, some indigenous peoples who are not indigenous, such as the Mapuche. ARGENTINA is the union of many peoples, including the true indigenous peoples. I am a descendant of Huarpes, Tehuelches, Italians and Spaniards. That's what we Argentines are, a melting pot of united ethnicities. We do not use the word "black" to discriminate, but on the contrary we use it to refer to family members, very close friends. In English they have "phradal verbs" when our own "phrasal verbs" have the word black, there we do use it to criticize, but it is not because of hair color... it is because of dirty people, and unfortunately the dirt is black . Now people of African descent, rather than being black, should say that they have a darker brown color, that is their true color for us. After all, I know everything, even though we are white, we are so mixed that we have a lot of melanin, and we know how to distinguish colors because we live with different shades of skin color. I only have that to add, I hope one day they will understand us. Greetings from Argentina.
