Exterior Tile Veneers
zhlédnutí 60Před rokem
When porcelain tile was first introduced into the International Building Code as an adhered masonry veneer in 2009, designers embraced the opportunity to use it, even with the code’s conservative size and weight restrictions. In the decade that followed, innovations in tile, setting materials, and labor resulted in larger and lighter tiles, stronger mortar, and specialty-skilled tile installers...

Finding and Retaining Employees in a Challenging Market
So this video is like a year old now, and I have looked online, and also went to a retailer who handles Wedi products just now. Dealer has no info on the trench drain product. When/where is it available?
How do you attach the shelf??????
What thinset are they using?
It looks great but give it some traffic. I contacted Latecrete and they never responded after noticing darker gray was turning brown from lite foot traffic from dirty shoes. Scrubbed and still has brown in it. For such resistant advertised grout, they won't tell you how to clean. Does take sealer so something doesn't add up, because it absorbs dirt. Been told by tile distributers to scrap down the top layer and reapply - what? You know how much work that is on 400'sf?
How has this been going for you brother? Im thinking about starting something similar?!
Seems awfully labor intensive. I'm installing a solid quartz shower pan. No grout, no seams, no leaks. Done
My husband works for a granite Co. I'm upset to here they throwing away. I ask him to brink home what thr throw away but he only brought me one piece. I need ideas to show him what we can make.
@MiaMaples
I need to know
Can't wait!! See you all there! #9045 🥰
Great video, but I was talking to the screen the whole time trying to remind you to align the panels before you screw the panels in.
8:14 looking good brother. Good thing you caked it with silcone.
Ok….
Very similar to the everbilt shower system. I've used the everbilt shower system and it's pretty good 👍🏻👍🏻.
Translucent looks amazing
The takeaway from this video is the ceramic tile industry is desperate. You need to be on high alert to learn anything useful from this shameless attack on LVT. Basically: don't use LVT in a bathroom. PROBLEMS with ceramic: you need a 100% perfect substrate preparation, which can cost more than LVT and installation combined, ceramic is a bit more expensive even without the added cost of substrate preparation, ceramic can crack, grout lines can deteriorate and leak like LVT (the mold can grow on the substrate if not the ceramic). I am just a consumer who did research on the two products.
2024 show in April
Is the membrane underneath the pan required? Is it thinset to the subfloor? The video starts with it already over the subfloor.
@CoveringsShow Same question here, about to start a project applying a foam pan to a plywood subfloor.
I’ve just recently started using the Laticrete Hydro Ban shower system and so far I absolutely love it! I think it’s just as good if not better than Wedi or Schluter systems.
Love the end !! Lol 😂 Thanks for this video I’ll be doing my shower 👍🏼
Loved this session! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
💃 'promosm'
after 5 years of planning I'm about to install one of these :)
I have sprayed styrofoam insulation behind densshield is it ok ?
But how do you attach the shelf to the niche.
Taking them off the wall with the tool is kind of hard
epoxy grout is much harder to apply , and short work time ,(professional tile setter for 20 years)
How is the shelf and niche tried out? I'm using 6" hex tiles and can't figure a clean way to hide cuts.
why can't you use this outdoors(buy kitchen) instead of cement boards?
So true! When I use to work for my Father’s Granite business, I couldn’t believe how much material we threw away .So I came up with an idea to make badass cutting boards, mosaic type coffee table tops (with epoxy and lights underneath) etc.. it was all 100% profit as clients pay for the materials of course. Sold/Shipped items around the US via Ebay, Craigslist and showing photos to potential General Contractors to present to their developers
Do you still sell them?
I have used this system full time for 3 years now. I prefer it over the wedges which can get pricey. One advantage over a wedge system is that you only need one in every corner to level all for tiles (standard grid pattern). If staggering the tile no problem, break one tab off and now you have a "tee" spacer. The caps are reusable and the spacers rarely break from the base when compressing the cap with the tool. My only critiques is that I can't see my grout lines at the corners after its installed. Sometimes the tile can shift and you won't know it until the next day when the caps get removed. Nowadays I compress all four corners by putting the spacer just off to the side of the grout line (flat spacer). It still catches all four tiles and now I can see it is the way I want it. I wish more tile stores around me carried this product...I guess setters want to use more clips, more wedges, and buy them 200 pieces at a time.....
Just reading your comment after breaking both tabs on 3 bags. I needed tee spacers so the next 4 bags I will break correctly.
But how to you set the shelf??
If you lift a tile up without adding mortar under it you create a hollow corner. Learn to float.
Hey John, what are you using to cut those?
Clearly labeled *water resistant ". I do love denshield. But always back it up with a quick hydroban or red guard. Your going to overdrive some of your screws. Or your helper will.
I agree. It seems crazy to not waterproof over seams and screws.
Hello can you give ma a watssapp number to contact?
I need to buy another adjustable shelf for my 12"×28" and can't find one . Ideas ??
great product holds up did my shower 10 yrs ago no problems even did the floor.
Your video is less than adequate when it comes to your demo person
Good video. Mr. Personality was great!
what is the minimum thickness of the overall assembly. says 1/8", but is that the mat+ thinset?
I understand this logic in making 32” boards, but I do renoes and every previous tile job demoes to over 32” wide and 64” tall.. So I stopped using it, too many sheets and joints. Too bad, was great stuff otherwise. Two times I threw a couple chunks into buckets of water, once for a couple months. Came out just as dry, hard and solid as when it started.
I used this for a shower instal and corner tub, much easier than cement board, fibreglass issue is non existant, sealed screws and joints with and liquid waterproofing membrane, tape on joints, mesh type, will use on new shower instal, silicone corners before taping.
Brilliant ideas here. I just picked up a bunch of brand new van gough granite that neighbours were throwing out because the edges were round and not square. I know, they must have money to burn and I was in shock they could just throw it away. Their trash is my treasure. I hadn't thought of a fireplace but i'll give it a try.
Nice!
How do you attach the shelf?
FIBERGLASS!!!! It gets all over you. I have to carefully wipe the surface and be very cautious not to touch it any more than necessary. By the end of the day, I can’t wait to shower off the fibers!
Agreed. I followed the process like in the tutorial, but the tiles were still tacky the next day.
He didn't show the SENSOR wire that goes on top of the mat, that's the only reason I wanted to watch; do you use duct tape to secure it? 😥
Can you extend the end of the cable if you run short, and what is the best method to reduce the cable if your to long
I thought levolution was blowing buildings up
