18:10 Is this the God Save the Queen film the ABC used when they close down every night in the early 70's (this was years before they started using Advance Australia Fair)? Anyone know what other Australian TV stations they close down nightly with this God Save the Queen film?
im sorr6 but HES SO IRRESISTIBLE JUST BY PLAYING GUITAR :(((
great story of our brave Aussie soldiers that did a great job in Vietnam & should B remembered 4 their heroics
Was that a young Noah Taylor in the boat scene?
Ooh -seeing John Polson (Serge) get naked is a great view!👍
Can anyone tell me which part of Sydney this was? Almost looks like the location is near Kirrabilli House!
Great to see Australian actor, now Director, John Polson in one of his earlier acting roles. I’ve always liked him!! ❤
What happened to the other episodes?
I was a teen during this time as well. There was much political upheaval at the major universities at this time with this war, the death of John F. Kennedy before that, the Cuban missile crisis, and the death of Martin L. King. I remember it all through the background of anti-war songs. It was a chaotic, fearful and also exciting time to live!
Thanks so much .. i could not help but be extremel moved .
Thanks for this . Hi from the uk . First time seeing this .. very impressed so far . Glad the uk stayed out of it ..most of the army was in Germany waiting for the Soviets , or in northern Ireland
I'm of the opinion that this is at least the best fully encompassing story of the Vietnam war from the Western perspective. From the fighting fields and the people of Vietnam through the home front families that were fully caught up in this politically charged age. With the 4th estate's inciteful coverage, these events polarized absolutely everyone. While war has long been known to bring out the worst of humanity, it also brings out the best. All those involved in this production certainly had the best of intentions in bringing home to all of us the messages of those who have endured such extreme travails of life. This series succeeds in that message. For it is not just an Australian story but one for everyone. It matters not what age we've lived through, nor which conflict we may have been associated with.
Tour of duty copies this series with music,
NO, it doesn’t. Because that TV series is based on the AMERICAN experience, NOT the Australian’s experience, so you’re WRONG!!
Bits are missing, Harold holt disappearance. Thought that would get a mention
Missed the introduction music and old clips I don’t speak Vietnamese. Where’s the subtitles
John polson. founder of Tropfest and director of a number of US series
I have the entire box set on VHF in my loft, I've tried to find it on DVD or download it but can't find it anywhere. Brilliant TV series, sadly forgotten.
Is this the original broadcast version of the mini-series? Any alterations in current versions?
thank you for this movie love it.
There's a word for girls like Natalie.
Did they recut this for DVD? I watched this series on DVD and half the scenes from this episode weren't on it.
This may seem a strange comment but rings true in a way-fools rush into something they really don’t understand
foooooook how can we lose audio @ the end !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats my 19 year old mum at 4:54 drinking the beer
Rothschild crime family propaganda!!

I’ll never forget this scene. I had a massive crush on Brett Climo - still do 😊
A great show, first watched the show as a teenager, the first two episodes on a vhs tape, and never until recently new how the story for all the characters ended, thanks for uploading them.
And . . . just as I start watching the third series, it disappears.
Paul Do you StIll S1 EP,4 ? That Great
As a former soldier (Combat Medic) who has served in various war zones over the decades, I did find this mini series interesting,. What the anti-war movement never seem to realize or take into account is that there will always be conflict/ war and people kike myself will serve in the military. Weather all or some wars are justified or not will always be debatable.
Pub scene around 7:00 and he's already a lance jack straight off IET. Not likely
Didnt realise nicole kidman called be such a comedic actress..
Weird hearing quids instead of dollars!!!,i dont think they ever showed this in uk, but remember watching heroes and heroes the return, also Anzacs which was also well put together... if they anymore war themed mini series like those pls let me know...
It was shown in the UK in 1988.
It first aired in Australia in 1988
Криминальная Россия.. Russia mafia
Having Rolf Harris in the opening. That aged well
It’s okay the perv is dead now 😂
Those women who came forward should not be idolized. They should be vilified as the cretins that they are. And Operation Yewtree was a witch-hunt.
@@09weenic Sad, but those pieces of trash who came forward against him are alive and well. Those women who came forward should not be idolized. They should be vilified as the cretins that they are. And Operation Yewtree was a witch-hunt.
Why is this not on DVD/Blu-ray? Excellent drama.
Best drama ever commissioned & filmed for bbc2 in the 90's era!
Great drama series in the 90's.....watched every episode every Monday night at 9pm on bbc2

Those BT adverts. Esther Hall
This is outstandingly good. It’s outrageous how nothing has really changed over the years with regard to how we view the poor and alienated. Anyhow, thank you so much for uploading this show. I loved it the first time and perhaps even more now.
