Imagine getting the chance to help create a special gift for a newborn set of twins. What a wonderful opportunity. A few months ago a proud father to be contacted me about creating a set of hand poured gold bars for his new babies. We put our heads together and decided it would really be special if we could pour them on the day of their arrival. Around midnight I received a message saying that ...

I recently received a gold bar to re-pour into a Lithic bar. Unfortunately, when I examined the bar, I suspected it might be slightly contaminated with base metals. The bar had a barely perceptible copper huge, with a small dark patch of oxides on one end. I also noticed the bar had scratches that appeared to be made from being rubbed with sandpaper for a file. It this is done to a gold bar, yo...

Hi Jeff I'm reaching out to you for the reason of learning about cementing/precipitating raw natural elements I have made a costic salutation with 3% hydrogen peroxide and v50 hair developer iodine salt dish soap and a dash of vinager I took a 65 pound "rock" and cleaved it into 3 segments crushed one and put another in whole I had activity for 3 months ultimately turning everything to a black and yellow /white shiny particulates after testing with a silver gold platinum salutation the gold silver ect passed so I than got stennaous chloride salutation and everything passed for palladium gold platinum I took it in to be x rays in renton wa I brought my stuff in and my ellensburg blue in they had the nerve to say my agates blue and a 22k white gold ring are iron along with the elements I smelted to 2600 degrees that seized please Jeff I need your help my name is Jonathan
Hello, your method is very good, but I have a question: do you neutralize the solution before applying the copper or not? Thank you
Ok so how do I make money with this 😭 teach meeee
Unfortunately, this isn't a get rich quick scheme. It's just a small part of precious metals refining.
183 grams = about 5 ounce = about $160
This guy gives Matthew McConaughey a run for his money 😂
Man, watching jewelry getting melted down and watching that premium burn away is one thing but for pre 1933 US coins… wtf!??
I melt old jewelry down every day. It is tough sometimes. But these pieces were well used in their day. And, the eagle was mounted in a bezel. It had zero numismatic value.
Thank you for sharing with us
I am amazed how much it takes to purify gold!! It is kind of mind boggling! 😅
183g is a little less than 6 oz. At todays price that is about $175
It"s wonderful, although like you said it is nerve racking when we want perfection. That's why this things are precious and the process is long though.I like it.
How come people can’t work with 24k gold like that?
Actually, many folks do. However, the pieces are "soft" and can bend or burnish easier than karat gold.
I think the CAOs are marked with 2 #2s and no #1... loving the content 💯
Now how do you remove the copper from the solution? 😏
Tap Water... EQUALS MORON !
That was pretty
Can you please send me a link to purchase mould and could you please tell me what the concoction you mixed up at the start please
What’s the purpose of ammonia rinse?
It neutralizes the traces of acid that remain. Helping to "scrub" away the remaining trace metals still clinging on.
Hey sir, please teach me what step should I do if gold and platinum are glued together?
So what you're saying is silver will never be hard to find thus rendering it cheaper
How did you come to that conclusion? I used copper to recover the silver from the used electrolyte solution. Chemistry, not magic
@LithicMetals First off I never said it was magic, Second, I was referring to precious metals being mined in the world, if silver can be made like this the price will never go up do to it not being that scarce?
I didn't word my response very well. The reference to magic was to "making" silver. Because that would be a kind of magic. I didn't make anything. The silver was in the solution. I used copper to recover it. In order for silver to be in solution, someone ie. Me, had to put it there.
exaclty huh? never mind the previous coment 😂 i just wonder if its cost worth?
Huh?
why pour into shot before making it a bar?
So I can weigh the exact amount I'd need to make a proper bar. Instead of having some random weight.
@@LithicMetals ah, ok. i never thought of that
Time to make some bullets...
How does this guy with a *home* *lab* get .9999 pure gold, like a Canadian or South African gold coin, for example?
The chemistry is the same. 🙂
@@LithicMetals Yes, but a metallurgy lab in your garage isn't quite the same as the facility that makes golden Maple Leafs, or Krugerrands.
Say my lab was in my garage. How would the chemistry or the equipment be any different than any other facility other than in scale?
Oh Oh! , I get it. Thanks, it was a great video.
So your telling me you got at 75p per gram for silver, so £102 you saying that you got? Bullshit
Peter, this is basic chemistry. I simply used copper to recover the silver from the used electrolyte solution. It's what I do everyday, it's a part of the refining process
Why haven't you made any videos lately? Really missing the content.
I appreciate the motivation! I'll post a few soon. I've just been focused on the gold
@@LithicMetals No worries. Just like your videos, have a good day!
Quite a process, converting mixed gold into 'pure gold' My friend has a 900 gram melted block of gold from old jewelry needing purification.. maybe we do it outside on the picnic table. approx how many hrs? Thank you for this video.
There is so much to learn in order to do these processes safely and to be able to dispose of the waste products safely. Can you do it... sure. But if you do, it's a big commitment. Doing it outside on your picnic table would open you up to a lot of risk.
Can I get one of those for the low price of free-fiddy?
Lol nope
Science
You don't say how much time and effort it took or say if this is even coast effective . As of 6/25/24 silver price is .95 US Dollar per gram. which makes the finished sliver worth $ 173.85 USD
That's because I wanted to show you a cool experiment. It wasn't meant as a financial tutorial. I simply used copper to recover the silver from my used electrolyte solution that you'd see in my other vids.
About $180.00 USD in silver
Being a nerd definitely paid off.
🤓.... 😁
Why aren't you pouring silver anymore?
I'm just not as good at it as want to be. Gold is really my medium of choice.
Ause he's full of crap
Pardon?
I want to lean hoy to do this
Hold on what? That's money
Dude just made gold out of thin air.
Oh man, I wish
Love it 🤩
Thanks, Darren! 😁
First, let me say I absolutely love your work. You have elevated the creation of gold bars to something between a craft and an art. At some point, I would love to commission one of your bars. Second, a minor question: Why do you refer to silver, when combined with gold, as a "base metal." I thought "base metal" referred to an inexpensive metal, such as copper, tin, zinc, or lead, and not a precious metal, such as platinum, gold, or silver. Am I misunderstanding something?
i have a 14k yellow gold ring, and a 14k white gold ring, can I just melt those together and use that to make another ring? ratio is about 2:1 yellow to white. I imagine it will just be a really light yellow..
Hey Jason. I'm not an expert on crafting jewelry. But from my understanding, that wouldn't be a good idea. Certain ratios have to be met. Otherwise, the metal can become brittle. I'd chat with a jeweler.
So you're saying it's an.. equivalent exchange, alchemist?
How can I do this ??
Now you got to get the copper out of solution using aluminum because copper is valuable and then the cycle continues because then you got to get the aluminum out of solution because the aluminum is valuable by using zinc and then eventually zinc is valuable so you have to get it out of solution and the cycle never ends which means you will always have a way of making money
Actually, I drop the copper with iron. Then, dispose of the copper. It's not worth recovering. It's just a few ounces in the end.
Its like watching the bob ross of gold
😁
What is that solution from?
Amazing!😮
Wow
💯 to the viedo making & edit team as well . Quality work all the way around.

This bloke probably knows how to make the philosopher's stone
Maybe i missed when reading thru the comments. I believe you said the Silver Nitrate solution came from a silver cell what was the silver cell from or located. What's funny i remember a giant bottle of blue silver nitrate in chem class. Damn i took the Hydrochloric Acid to see what i could destroy wish i would've none this they could've kept the acid.
