The Criteria that influences the Sorting Hat's decision in regards to the House Selection is quite Complex and ambigious. It considers numerous factors b4 finalizing its decision. The major factors are:- 1. Personal Choice of the Wearer 2. Family History of the Wearer 3. Inherent Qualities / Traits of the Wearer 4. Dormant and Dominant Qualities / Traits of the Wearer 5. Wearer's personal Upbringing and his environment 6. Factors that Affect the Wearer's Inherent Traits Harry Potter became a Gryffindor bcoz:- - The Hat sensed Ron and Harry's budding Friendship and Harry's own Aversion towards getting sorted into the Slytherin House. - When Harry explicitly made his Choice clear regarding the Slytherin House (Not Slytherin!! Anywhere but Slytherin), the Hat accepted his Choice and sorted him into Gryffindor. - Another imp Criteria considered was family bg. Harry's entire Family-line i.e. Potters are sorted into Gryffindor. In Case of Hermione, she was a near Hatstall but out of her inherent Qualities, her Courage and Boldness were the most Dominant traits wrt her Intelligence. Hence the Hat sorted her into Gryffindor. It is equally possible that Hermione was well aware about the Houses and probably thought that she was best fit as a Ravenclaw but the Sorting Hat decided otherwise.

In the 5th Film, Prof Lockhart, Bellatrix and Trelawney were supposed to have Scenes together but owing to the real-life Drama, Lockhart had small Cameo as part of the Deleted Scene and Bellatrix and Trelawney did not Share Screen with each other.
