Now that I've played through the game I've gone and watched a few playthroughs of it. Turns out the second player is hilariously broken and completely trivializes this fight (and most fights honestly). But otherwise I definitely think using items is the way to go, I'm just really bad about hoarding items haha

Yeah, some of these challenges really got to me. I'm sure if I really took the time to get used to shortcut commands and better utilizing Oatchi as a commander they wouldn't be such a problem. Weirdly I felt like the second half of the Sage Leaf trials were way easier than the first half and some of these late game regular trials.

Interesting, I feel like they probably did that to try and make the weaker Pikmin more viable in combat, but Ice Pikmin were pretty broken to begin with so they really didn't need a boost lol

Yeah, these trials were rough. I really don't like bringing as much irritation to my videos as I have in this one, but man it is real lol. Getting the pluckaphone before coming in here would have helped a lot.

Yeah, overall I'm pretty happy with the skills I prioritized, but I definitely could have optimized a bit better.

Yeah there's a number of enemies in this game that don't really pose much threat. They can certainly keep your pikmin busy which is annoying, but they don't do much to actually kill any of the pikmin.

Yeah, I somehow never even saw moss up there. By the time I finally found her I was genuinely wondering if she was even part of this campaign XD

HP and MP are the hardest stats to get to max level. Best advice is honestly to make use of the Restaurant. It's expensive but quickly becomes the only way to keep raising your HP and MP.

The three biggest tips I can give for getting higher stats are: 1) Fighting is more efficient than Training. As soon as you are strong enough to, fight wild Digimon instead of training. 2) Invest in stat boosting Trainer skills and avoid life extending Trainer skills 3) Digimon going into new generations is your best friend for leveling up. We also got our Digimon desynced in the first generation which made stat gains more effective (if one Digimon is at a lower stage than your other Digimon, they get a stat gain bonus). 4) Also, if you can afford it eating at the Restaurant is a great way to get some extra stats, but it can be very costly (especially in the early game).

Yeah it seems like on a second playthrough he it would be no problem. As long as you know what he is going to do its super easy to avoid. But man if he gets you with the gas you are just out of commission for a long time.

Engulfed Castle was a challenge... Not as bad as the similar location in Pikmin 2 at least.

I'm not sure why he won't fight you. The only consistent thing I'm finding online is that you need to have at least 150 monster registered.

Thanks for the tips! I remember figuring out the shortcut menu early in but I am constantly forgetting about it haha. And I should really use Oachi more as another captain rather than just transport.

Yeah, overall I really do think BoF2 is a better game than BoF1. But I have much more nostalgia for the first game and find myself going back to it more often. Probably because it is an easier game to play and follow so it was easier for me to play through it as a child. Also Infinity in BoF2 is massive and I really hate going through it even as an adult haha.

I adore this game. I really wish they had continued the series, but even as a standalone title it is a real gem.

I've been having a great time with this game. Honestly, I don't think I've played a Digimon game I haven't liked. Some of them are objectively pretty bad, but I've still enjoyed them.

I'm glad you're enjoying them! The DWM games have definitely been some of my favorite that we have played.

I love the mechanics of the dwm games. The breeding and magic keys allow you to replay the game countless times and still enjoy it.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately this game does take quite a while to really get going, and by its nature it's pretty slow paced and grindy. And unlike other similar games we've played on the channel, we also aren't very familiar with this one. So this will definitely be a slower, more exploratory playthrough rather than a more targeted, walkthrough sort of style. I've tried to keep the episodes a little longer than I usually would to compensate for that.

We don't have any plans to live stream, but we will be doing a full playthrough. New episodes should be coming out every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I'm sorry, but we don't have any plans at the moment to play the Explorers series. I know a ton of people love those games, but we just don't have the same emotional attachment to them as we do for Red and Blue. That being said, I won't rule it out completely. Maybe one day, but probably not anytime soon.

That makes a lot of sense (unfortunately for ditto). I like that its included in the game but with the way the mechanics work its really just an annoyance to fight and would be even worse to try and use.

Hopefully good ones! I've had a lot of fun with this game. I never played it as a kid so it's been really cool to experience it.

The best way we found to get multiples of the same monster is to use two sirloin. Using three sirloin could increase your odds, but we found that two sirloin will usually do the trick. Either that or a meteorb, that's a guarantee. However those are much harder to get a good hold of.

Yeah, Tim had plans for what we wanted to get but the game had other ideas haha. As the Dragon Warrior Monster games will continue to prove after this series, it isn't a proper monster raiser if the game doesn't throw us some screwballs.

I've never encountered that before. I'm using an original N64 for this playthrough, maybe that's an issue with emulator / Nintendo Online?
