B-26 Marauders bomb targets in France (Normandy) in June 1944[Colorized & Enhanced]
The Martin B-26 Marauder is an American twin-engined medium bomber that saw extensive service during World War II. The B-26 was built at two locations: Baltimore, Maryland, and Omaha, Nebraska, by the Glenn L. Martin Company.
First used in the Pacific Theater of World War II in early 1942, it was also used in the Mediterranean Theater and in Western Europe.
After entering service with the United States Army aviation units, the aircraft quickly received the reputation of a "widowmaker" due to the early models' high accident rate during takeoffs and landings.
This was because the Marauder had to be flown at precise airspeeds, particularly on final runway approach or when one engine was out. The unusually high 150 mph (241 km/h) speed on short final runway approach was intimidating to many pilots who were used to much slower approach speeds, and when they slowed to speeds below those stipulated in the manual, the aircraft would often stall and crash.
The B-26 became a safer aircraft once crews were retrained, and after aerodynamics modifications (an increase of wingspan and wing angle-of-incidence to give better takeoff performance, and a larger vertical stabilizer and rudder).
The Marauder ended World War II with the lowest loss rate of any U.S. Army Air Forces bomber.

Great footage! Love the B26! Got a couple of models, including "Flak Bait," which completed 207 missions!
I think I just saw a kid with a cigarette?
No fue el más eficiente pero para mí el más hermoso de todos...
for all the guys who want to know what they are saying (if this is real) the first sentence at 1:51 is "Ich weiß es nicht" (eng: I don't know) the second sentence at 1:55 is "es ist (traumhaftes?) Wetter" (it's fantastic weather) the last group of words at 2:05 sounds like "ich hole etwas" (I'll get something) or "schon etwas" (already something) the rest is so quiet and masked by the noise that I can't identify anything from that if someone understands more or wants to correct me then feel free to do so

Terrible waste of both sides 😔
Agreed :/
Owe leadership back then had guts. Now look what we have today. Weak woke politicians. All the sacrifice the world war veterans of the first and second made has all been forgotten. Anybody who voted 🗳 Labour must have been out of their bloody minds.
Pretty ethereal song, very good.

Sir, You have excelled yourself with this one! The Ariete was undoubtedly the best Italian Division in North Africas and was respected by Rommel himself. As I have said before, the colorisation brings the footage to a new dimension. Thank you and Grazie Mille! Bob

From the wartime movie "Kato Hayabusa Tai"
Flying Death.
Didn't see any convoys just lone merchant ships. Presumably convoys would have had armed escorts. I doubt they went near any convoys with battleship or battlecruiser escorts with 15" guns. Presumably this was early in the war when surface raiding was still a tactic. Royal Navy soon knocked that nonsense on the head.
