A really solid, professional, and no-nonsense interview that got right into the nitty-gritty of Dave's art and working methods. Both Michael and Dave were humble, thoughtful and considerate of their viewers, no small feat! I liked the variety of topics covered and the pacing of the interview. My only lingering desire was to see a few more examples and critiques of Dave's works. Thank you for the channel, and I'll check out some of your other guests. Cheers!

Really enjoyed this interview! Thank you for posting the recording Michael, as I could not attend live. David is one of my all time favorite artists and it was very interesting to listen and be the proverbial fly on the wall. Very inspiring. I will definitely check out more of your artful:minds channel.

Love Marc Dalessio's work, his very pedagogical vidéos & overall, his no frills, no BS attitude. A genuine artist. (Also, I love his colors. He stays away from the usual easily seductive oranges & violets you see all over the place).

Blown away by her work. Fractured dimensional cubism, graphic patterns, realism, colourism - she really has all of my favorite things working in such a symphony. Highly emotional feelings from her work on her site, I can't imagine in real life. Zoey and SAINER are two artists that have such a mastery of all the elements IMHO

Great interview. I find Zoey’s work to be inspiring. Not a Hockney fan. But I do have a bunch of shots of his faceted pictures. Dave Mckeans early work and sketches he would use multiple photos as the base of a painting/Illustration as did Matt Mahurrin.

Renato's such a great guy. He’s helped me many times with questions I’ve had and talking with him.

Also, Amy said that darker colors are naturally warmer. I disagree …most of the dark colors that I know of are more naturally cool colors.

I am with Amy as far as finding a spot to paint outdoors. I’ve been in a group with one woman who said the same thing to me about “you better hurry up and paint”! she took photographs basically so she was never in a hurry to paint, but she always claimed that she was getting so much.. she gave up painting years ago and I’m still out there painting.. doing a thumbnail first getting it located on my canvas .. I take my time and feel good about that.!

I have just discovered Aimee Erickson and am so excited as I search for everything she has painted and listenoing to her interviews is an incredible experience...I'm thinking she has been in the shadows by choice..But now I think her style and discussions are setting the art world on fire due to her ability as a painter and her unique exciting view of colors and choice of subjects are captivating....! WOW
