Roa is mean reverting, because assets are subject to the same irrstionality of stock prices. make sure the industry isn’t cyclical or look at the average for the last 10 years. Or maybe ROA as a percentile in that industry is more likely to capture good management Honestly I’m surprised the magic formula works as well as it does but maybe he’s doing extra magic. Or maybe the companies who are in secular runs have high ROA and remain in the magic formula list and skew the average return.

I looked at the stocks he mentioned that were undervalued (since the date of this video) and 2/5 were correct being: META & MRK with tremendous returns. 3/5 were wrong being Target, UPS, and BHP. I've been holding cash since 2020 pandemic crash, just went 'all in' and bought $250k worth of ETFs & individual stocks in order to earn dividends for the rest of my life if possible, tho I'm not sure of the market despite reaching its all time high this year.
