You may need a e12 socket, not 10mm. Also removing the plastic cover requires lifting a tab to release cover... If you look directly down on cover you can see the tab. These details are kinda good to know.

Rennline make awesome products but they made an error with this one! It's not compatible with seats featuring manual fore/aft adjustment. I am sure they will fix this soon but buyer be aware!

Pro tip: use Loctite 242 “blue” for the ballhead to screw threads, as mine has loosened up due to vibration. I had to go through the trouble of removing the panels and doing this over.

What is the torque for the wheel nut?

Picked up this mount, but I'm struggling to get it installed. Try as I might I just cannot get the front cupholder to come out. The lower right corner came up but the lower left corner is not budging, and I even took some trim tools to it with quite some violent force. It just won't budge, and I'm afraid I"m going to break something or injure myself. Any advice?

It's not compatible with 996s. Per Rennline's site, it doesn't work on 996.2, and I tried on a 996.1 but you have to grind a chunk out of the side piece of the console to be able to put it back together.

I love the concept of this phone mount, but all that trim removal was mildly traumatizing even just to watch, not gonna lie! Does that trim piece pretty easily get coaxed back into looking like it's perfect from the factory?

Does it come with screws?

For me the right side vent would not come out. It has two holes, one on each side in the middle, that you can use a pick to carefully pull it out. Otherwise it was very straight forward

I found it very hard to swing the two sides apart.I struggled to separate them and then still had a hard time not to distort or bend the metal. In fact, it appears to me that perhaps there was a time when the 'dimples' for the screw heads might have been less deep than mine were. I, too, had to use my bench grinder to grind them down so that I could even try to swing them closed. I thought and thought about alternatives to messing with the new inserts and did not change them at all. Once I ground the dimples down far enough to cross over the inserts, then I could close them. The rest was easy. It took me probably two hour on the first one with all the uncertainty, not wanting to damage them because to replace them is far too expensive. The second one only took about 20 minutes and putting them back on the car, only a few minutes. I do thank the video here for showing how it can be done. I must have watched it at least 7 or 8 times, carefully stopping and rewinding several times. Good luck with yours and just have patience.
