Yes, as a US citizen you can use the automated immigration counter but it is different from the EU citizens. Once you arrive in Rome you will see two lanes one for EU citizens and one for all passports. In all passport lane they will ask you if you are from US, Canada, Japan, Australia or some other countries then you can use the automated immigration system. The process is very simple. You have scan your passport amd they will take a picture and if everything goes well the automatic gate will open you are through. I hope this helps you understand the process. If someone is coming to pick you up they can park their car in the parking lot and meet you just outside the customs in the arrival area. To answer your question, the process from the arrival to the to the departure lounge and to your departure gate totally depends upon how busy the international transfer security checkpoint is. It can take up to an hour or sometimes less then an hour. If your connection is more then two hours and your flight arrives on time then you should be able to catch your next flight. If both the airlines are on one tickets then you you don't have to go through the immigration and customs or pick up your luggage and recheck in Istanbul airport. Just make sure to get your onward boarding pass from Istanbul to Sochi at Jakarta airport. But if you have two separate tickets for each airlines then you have to go through immigration and customs at Istanbul airport and then recheck your luggage at Istanbul airport. Yes, you have to go through International transfer and go through the security check again. To go through the security check you have to have your onward boarding pass for your Toronto flight. Yes, you have to go through the international transfer and security check. To go through the security check at international transfer you have to have your onward flight boarding pass to go through the security checkpoint. Yes. You have to validate your train ticket. The way you validate is when you use it and majority of the time the train conductor comes to you and ask for your train ticket and then he or she validate your ticket. The Turkish airlines Airport staff at Chicago O’Hare should give onward boarding pass for Istanbul to Bangkok flight and same for the return flight from Istanbul to Chicago boarding pass should be given to you by the Turkish airlines staff at Bangkok airport for the return flight. First of all thank you for watching my video. To answer your question about going outside of Istanbul airport in my humble opinion for you it is not possible because you you don’t have enough time to go outside even though you don’t need a visa because as an American you can get the visa free entry in Turkey now. Bit since your layover at Istanbul airport is only five hours and just to go though the immigration at the airport can take up to an hour easily and then you have a forty minute drive to Istanbul city center and another hour back from the city. Once you arrive back at the airport for your departure you have to go through two separate security checkpoints and the passport control as well which can take another hour or so. This whole process can take up to three hours so I think it is not very wise to go outside and risk missing your flight to Pakistan. However you can ask the Turkish airline office staff in Pakistan to give you enough time for lay over in Istanbul for you connecting flight back to USA. I hope this helps you understand the process. Yes. To go outside the Istanbul airport and check out the area around airport or go to the city for few hours you do meed a visa. In my opinion, I think seven hours layover is not enough time to go outside and come back as it will take you a good hour to go through the immigration process and then go outside and come back and go through two separate security checks and then another security check for the US flight. In order to that you have to through the immigration and customs for that you have to have the Turkish visa to go through immigration and customs. Since you have a 20 hours layover in Istanbul I hope you have applied for the Turkish e-visa online which is pretty quick and easy. I am wondering why do have two different PNR? Do you have two separate tickets on Turkish airlines. I know you have one economy class from India and Business class from Istanbul to USA. I hope that helps you understand the process. How long is your stay in Istanbul. Are you planning to go outside. If you are planning to go outside then you may need a visa. If you are traveling to any Schengen country or countries like UK then you can get a visa on arrival at Istanbul airport and that is if you are planning to go outside the airport. Are you traveling within Turkey or your final destination is outside Turkey? If you are traveling within Turkey you have to go through the customs and immigration process and once you’re done you will give your luggage back to the Pegasus airline staff to recheck your luggage to your destination. But if you are traveling outside Turkey you don’t need to do anything. Since you have a UK and Schengen visa and you have traveled on it then you don’t need a Turkish visa. They are not the name brands but they are a small chain hotel from Saudi Arabia and their names are “Y” platinum and “W” platinum hotel. They are about four to five miles from the Haram and they do provide breakfast. I have never stayed there but they have very good reviews. I hope this helps you out.
