As an optometrist this is the worst possible way to encourage a patient to insert a contact lens. Nobody inserts a lens this way! You really need to update this.

I am an Optometrist. On the contrary of your view towards people not taking good care of their eyes, I love hearing my recurring clients complains of their eyes often because more money can be made. In fact, I would intentionally prescript my clients with slight deviations which is enough for them to come back to make another pair of glasses within 2 - 3 months. I do this at least 3 times yearly for every client. Additionally, I would always find fault in them for not taking good care of their eyes while encouraging them to upgrade their lens quality (honestly, it is redundant and expensive), giving them a perceived assurance of their eyes being well protected. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, IT MUST BE FUNNY. IT IS THE RICH MAN'S WORLD.

I have cbs. I only see hallucinations in low light conditions mainly. I have it in regular light also but very rarely. I see small cartoonish people working- fighting - and moving quickly. They constantly morph into different things like animals or people. I see small creatures crawling up and down my walls and faces morphing into different faces. Once i saw a full size Reaper walk through my bedroom door. He walked past my bed and turned to look at me. Then walked out. It scared me terribly. At that time i didnt know i had cbs or even heard of it. I really though i was seeing a real ghost. 9 times out of 10 i dont hallucinate if i dont stare at something and its in full daylight. None of it scares me now cuz i know now its just my brain creating these visions. I have a shower curtain with lots of designes in it. If i stare at it very long it becomes alive. Just like watching a animated silent movie.

I have CBS due to Macular degeneration in both eyes. It's more complete in the left eye which has both wet and dry. The right eye has only the wet variety and has beed stabilized for the past several years. I have an interesting life with it. I am a single 75 year old retired adult educator living in the USA and pretty much self sufficient. One interesting story was when I came to a four way stop. When I looked to the right I saw stopped a beautiful leak jet black Corvette. Wondering if it was actually there, I closed my left eye and the Corvette changed into a jet black SUV. Which is what it actually was. It seems that once I see the real image it works in the left eye too. I've learned to cope with my CBS and laugh at my self when my brain tells me one thing and I know reality. I spend quite a bit of each day closing my left eye to see what is really out there.

Do I need to go to an optometrist if I can't see the post history of a person whose posts I don't give a shit about and I don't look at in the first place? Even if they do keep trying to show up near me to try and disprove that I don't see them because their bullying friends try to act like I copy them when I don't. I don't know what they do in their life and I don't care.

At last a video that goes somewhat to representing how glaucoma looks from the patient's eyes. Obviously it varies as patients lose different parts of the vision but this is the closest I have found. I have advanced glaucoma in both eyes and find it hard to describe. Your video helps to explain.

Historical Significance: Maurice Brumer was known for his vigourous and sustained advocacy of using plus lenses for the control of myopia, so vigourous that he disrupted the optometry section Presidential address at the 1978 ANZAAS meeting in Melbourne in a way that attracted local TV stations. He was protesting the refusal of the optometry ANZAAS committee to accept his paper. He also represented his views to the Federal Minister for Health. He was so disputatious that he was expelled from membership of the AOA and became engaged in legal dispute with it. His campagn for his views was certainly sustained: it began in 1977 and continued to at least 2008, some 30 years, during which time he practised various forms of harassment of the optometrists who has opposed his views. These included faxing long documents overnight to exhaust the ink and paper in the recipients fax machines. Brumer is now retired. See Cat No 887 and 1682 for additional
