All cars run out of fuel if you do not 'top them up' - I've had no issues for a long time with running out of fuel. Keep it between 20% and 80% and you will never have an issue

Having had both EV and PHEV, a PHEV is the car for EV drivers with towing needs. For other uses it is difficult to justify an ICE car over EV unless your are the genuine person who does the 1000km journey very regularly.

It's probably worth noting that you should check that you are not on a looped service or may be at the end of a looped service. This info should be held by your DNO. If you are then you'll have to ask your neighbour if they mind having their garden/path/pathed area dug up in order to unloop the supply & reconnect you or your neighbour to the mains cable in the pavement or road. In most cases this is done free of charge. You could possibly find yourself with an EV or PHEV car that you can't charge at home because you don't get on with your neighbour & they have refused access.
