I love your true crime episodes <3 Although, it is sad to hear that the families are suffering and did not receive closure from their missing loved ones. Hope they do get some closure one day. I just got my OA candle and I am OBSESSED with the scent. I have it on my work desk and smelling it as we speak while listening to your episode. Love you ladies!

🧟‍♀👰You guys had a nice positive spin on the concept of surprise weddings, but i feel like that's an asshole move to friends and family. i briefly looked at r/weddings on the topic and someone brought up a scenario where what if you're a guest and you had a bad day at work but you have this party to go to. You might show up later and only intend to be there for an hour or so, or not even go at all. Only to find out later that you missed your friend's wedding. But if you knew it was a wedding, you might get the day off of work to make sure you're there. But yeah after pulling this kind of stunt that i already think is an asshole move, i think it's silly to then be mad that someone dressed up (on theme!) as a corpse bride at what was presented as a fun costume party, but was secretly a surprise wedding.

These true crime eps are so interesting but make me sad thinking how their families must feel with no closure :(

Im bummed i missed last book club, but im looking forward to the next session. In fact, ive been behind on podcast episodes cause i was spending time finishing fourth wing to catch up to iron flame and finish that to prepare for book club.

✈️ 💩 Philippines was memorable for me too. And a week long trip that included Paris, London, and Reykjavik (though that was just a layover overnight and not enough time). I also relate to mostly traveling only with family and not having much experience otherwise.

I’m one of the listeners who is addicted to learning about and listening to true crime 😅 Definitely here for it and sending encouragement for these kinds of videos (as long as they aren’t spooky or scary lol). There’s some cases about just straight up scamming that i tend to lean in on 😂 not far from these cases on this episode!

For the particular scenario you wanted to hear about, I do think that both fiance and her bro are both @$$holes--moreso, the fiance for lending out something without telling her partner. The bro-in-law, regardless of how much the coat was worth, should've been more responsible for it even though he was drunk-next day he could've inquired lost and found instead of letting it go off the radar for so long. Instead of the dude finding out about it when he wanted to use it, why didn't anyone tell him that they lost it?⛵

I would guess that depending where you look, and what cutoffs they use, Anna might be considered in the millennial camp instead of gen x.

My mom does the grapes thing and it's a whole thing on NYE to remove what is now grapes from the previous year and putting up new grapes for the new year. I think all the round stuff is borrowed from chinese culture and adopted by filipinos as well. I know it more as a thing for birthdays than new years, but I guess filipinos/chinese also eat noodles on NYE to represent a long life.
