Quick, crude demo of why we wet pH paper in hazmat response. (remind me to tell you the story of getting H2SO4 on parts of me that should have never been exposed)

Hazmat Container 4-Step: Do your job AND stay alive. This was the first in the series and it was done in a rush at the request of some folks on Facebook. One day I'll redo it in a little more professional manner...so you don't have to stare at my luscious flowing locks.

I really wish that you weren't like Tweaker trying to rush it through. I mean seriously let my brain catch up.

On the 4th of July, this is especially important regarding fireworks according to the DOT regulations for shipping fireworks into vehicles, especially using those so called "explosive" placards. For instance...... Fireworks used by consumers would have 1.4 explosive placards. Fireworks used by professionals would have 1.3 explosive placards. Sometimes 1.2 in some cases, depending on the display shell sizes and how many salute shells are there. Bulk flash powder should have 1.1 or 1.2 explosive placards. They are the most dangerous hazard involving fireworks. Lessons learned from the fireworks factory disaster in Enschede in 2000, which involved massive explosions of bulk flash powder. In other cases not related to fireworks, dangerous inhalants like naphthalene (used in moth balls) would have an inhalation hazard placard (black-and-white, with the no. 2).
