F, E, D. Three blind mice comes to mind 🐁🐁🐁🎶🎶🎶😀
You explained that really well 🎶Thank you ,🥃
What’s the name of the first tune and the reel before the slow air?
Opener: Cha Til MacCrimmon, Reel before slow air: Kalabakan
I used to have a chanter when my high school had a pipes and drums band. It has been about 23 years. I might buy a chanter and try to relearn it.
Yes! Go for it. 😊👍
Very nice job. Are they both your students? What song is being played? Great strike in!
Thank you. I am the piper (as pipe major of our band) and the drummer is in our band and she takes snare lessons from Blair Brown
FIRST….pipers do not play songs, they play tunes, always tunes…..as in Tunes of Glory, an old movie that deserves watching. ( Calling them tunes risks getting hit by lightening or a flying haggis.) SECOND…..lovely lasses, excellent playing. Astonishing to this ancient piper that grade 4 has risen to this level of competence. Grade 4 in my day would now probably be classed as grade 47.
This 2/4 march is called “Carradale Bay”
Finely done! Outstanding TUNE and excellent execution. I’ve enjoyed and learned from watching your tutorials. I’m teaching a few students of various ages and abilities and have picked up some pointers from your videos. I’d love to chat with you sometime about how you started your band. Hi John: sounds good. How about you email me at melissa@melissabautzbagpiping.com
Thanks Melissa for that quick response, lots to think about, lots of practice using your advice, got to try that rubber band, again thank you, appreciated this greatly🤠🇦🇺👍
Hey Melissa,Frank from Australia here recently bought a chanter looks similar to yours can't seem to get a sound just a gurgle I'm just a beginner what am I doing wrong.looked at lot's of CZcams vids but just don't get it,👍🤠🇦🇺
Hi Frank: I’m about to post a guidance video for you about this topic. (I think I accidentally called you Franklin instead of Frank though!) 😬Sorry about that!
i like how you write under the notes d strike,e doubling etc,i used to do this also when learning, i think for some people it speeds up the process of learning a tune
I’m glad that’s helpful! Thank you for leaving a comment.
❤❤
What chanter are you using? it has a really great sound!
McCallum Poly (extended long with countersunk holes)
@@melissabautz2346 Thanks 👍
Loved hearing your band play at this past winter’s Casper Christmas benefit!
Thank you!
You played this so beautifully
How do I play this I'm going to order one an learn how to play xx
You would need to purchase a practice chanter first. You can get one from Henderson Imports or Higgins Ltd. or Reel Pipes. Then you need a teacher. In-person lessons are your best options, with a qualified teacher. If you don't live near an instructor, you can try following some online instructors on CZcams. Neil Clark (Falkirk Piping) is very good. My channel has some beginner playlists with lessons. There are others who do online lessons as well.
Wow, this is fantastic. Great cover!
thank you so much, i recently joined a local pipe band in australia. and youve been plently of help with getting me there with amazing grace
Fantastic!!! Well done.
Thank you for playing it at a slower speed. sincerely, from a snare drummer trying to practice his part. Lol
Hooray. I’m glad this is helpful.
Great work! I’m learning this at the moment.
Excellent..who can I get the notes 🎶 🙋🏻♀️👍
This tune is in the Scots Guards Book 2.
One tiny mistake crossing the competition field line, someone’s drone struck up early. Anyway awesome set, I would love the tune list, I promise not to share it with any other band.
Cha Til MacCrimmon (March) Aspen Bank (Strath) Fiona MacLeod (Strath) Fiona MacLeod (Reel) Kalabakan (Reel) Cha Til MacCrimmon (S/A) Atholl Highlanders (Jig)
Thank you very helpful
Interesting! I learned this one as a jig. It sounds really cool as a March.
Well done, Henry!
Good
Good
Amazing ❤
Very detailed but no need to repeat 5 or 6 times. It’s irritating.
Thanks for the visit. This video was made for a specific student who needed the reps. Not everyone needs or wants that, however. You are in that group and I totally appreciate that. Best to you in your piping endeavors.
I needed the repeat, thank you
Practice chanter lets you see why a bag is important! 😂
??
@@melissabautz2346 I, honestly, thought my comment was obvious! When playing bagpipes the sound doesn't stop when you breathe.
@@bobpert4030 Oh I see. Yes, the chanter is just a means to practice fingering technique. Its sound is a far cry from the bagpipes. Indeed.
Exactly and well played!❤❤
Comparing practise chanter recordings with such of pipes is absolutely nonsense! Obviously that wasn‘t the intention…..Thank you for your recording, which is a help to watch the !👍
Anyone click on this thinking you could learn the song "Misty Mountains" from the Hobbit? Anyone? No? Just me? Oh. Okay. Well, you sounded great anyhow.
Hi form Chile, tune ? lesson? Sheet music? Any way to show it like in your other videos? :) :) :)
For the music, please email me here: mlpwyo1@gmail.com
Pouvez vous me communiquer la partition des 2 voix Un grand merci Isabelle (France)
You are quite good. I love all of your selections too. Didn't know the march was that name, I am fam with the tune, but didn't know it's name, thank you for playing these and putting yourself out there on the line for us to appreciate. Cheers.
Awesome!!
GOOD JOB FRANCISCO. I love learning about turlet (toilet???) notes, especially when they are in G.
Reading penny whistle is a lot easier: Don't. 😆
Very nice
Would you say that the bagpipe scale goes from low G to high G, with an extra high A, or should we think of it as low A to high A, with an extra low G tagged on? I ask because it isn’t always clear to me what the intervals are.
Superbe ❤
Is there anyway you could share the sheet music for this? It is my all time favorite tune. The problem is the ucktib keeps censoring my comments. Will try in 3 parts with my name MitchSnider followed by the special sign and then MAC
and there there is the regular America doooot coooome
thanks so much for your help! Mitch piping in the Florida Keys.
Just superb. Have watched this several times
Hallo können Sie bitte ein Video von Erin's Green Shore machen. Ich brauche Hilfe ein großer Fan.
Hello, For now I only post instructional videos for my students and pipe band. You may want to check Neil Clark’s channel (Falkirk Piping) for “Erin’s Green Shore”. Try this: czcams.com/video/agdGlhJUKE0/video.htmlsi=0jmfr5TpzxONJmt-
Reel no?
This is beautiful and helpful. I can play the tune (almost by ear), but I lapse into penny whistle ornament notes. It’s a learning curve but it feels within reach. Peter
That's fantastic, Peter. I'm glad to know this recording is helpful.
You're great. Glad I found you. Subscribed
Thanks. I’m glad these recordings are useful.
Brilliant ❤
Thanks
Hello, I would like to ask you, do you have a special website for teaching beginners?
Hello. I have a website www.melissabautzbagpiping.com. I am currently teaching a limited number of students. However, right now I do not have any slots available for new students. The videos I post on this CZcams channel are for my current students and pipe band members. I do have a playlist for beginners that may be useful to you. czcams.com/play/PLaFnwaEkxMJLu_GqRhKA-4lfxJOjTtnPM.html&si=MIwY-pBmI5d3HUkq
