Thnx for ur informative video. I think you can use a mic stand for the 37 measurements, it will only take much longer. And looking at it from another angle, your head is always moving a bit while mixing, so maybe they calculated that bias.

AD/DA nowadays are so good ... i don't think anyone's bottleneck is the AD/DA

Upgraded my Logic immediately after hearing some samples of how good it can be. Incredibly useful for isolating vocals for remixes without ever having to touch a 3rd party plugin or resources. This was a great comparison, amazing and even delighted still that it was free for existing users!

I think I’m gonna go to Logic again. I just hope they just improve his Stems exporting thing because is still very archaic they way to render stems and render Stems with the bus and send FXs processing in it.

I would quite literally never use that in a mastering scenario. When A/B’ing the full mix you can audibly hear phasing (particularly in the high end) and are actively sacrificing audio fidelity for the sake of minor individual elements. Unless something is categorically unsalvageable, or returning to the mix isn’t an option. There is honestly 0% chance of me ever using that tool in a mastering setting. Maybe in future revisions, where it nulls, but as is? Absolutely no chance, it’s quite literally the opposite of mastering to do so. I think it’s a great tool for referencing, remixing and a plethora of other things… But mastering? Absolutely not.

Tbh, i think it's good. I'd still choose an m3 pro, being efficient is also great, and battery life also matters for professionals. If i get more battery life out of that thing, I'm willing to pay for it with the performance I'd still never fully utilize

Thanks a lot ! short time ago I installed RX11 Demo on my MBA M1 but I think I do not need to open it or upgrade from RX10 and have a far more easy job with Logic! The past years it was a bit complicated to export audiofiles from Logic to RX, make the split, export the stems to a folder (choose format and resolution and give file names) and import them to Logic, and and and.

It's been a known issue for years that Logic ran most stuff single-threaded (I guess the - pardon the pun - logic was that everything on a bus should run on the same core or something?). It's kind of embarrassing, but it's also what made them a ton of money because many folks would rather drop 5k and more on a higher end Mac than switch to another DAW and relearn...

Which MacBook is more performant for audio and video editing: MacBook Pro 13” M2, CPU 8-core, GPU 10-core, but with 24 GB unified memory, or MacBook Pro 14” M3 Pro, CPU 12-core, GPU 18-core, and only 18 GB unified memory? Thank you in advance!

I just bought a used base model M1 Max Mac Studio.😎(Coming from a 2009 (upgraded to 2012) Mac Pro) I did look at a M2 (pro) Mini, but for a bit less money (€1300) I now have: - more CPU cores (10 vs 8) - more Memory (32 vs 16 or 24) (Might be overkill for my current use, but better too much than later running out of memory) - More GPU. (although I'm currently not doing much video stuff, I do plan on doing some in the near future.) - More I/O options/port (4 tb vs 2 tb + 2 extra USB-c on the front)

I feel all these M1 M2 M3 releases and their Max Pro Ultra whatnot are basically like choosing a BigMac, BigCheeseWhooper or the Maxxed out BiggestrippleMacFettBurger. I guess good biz model and offers the consumer the apparent choice levelled to their economic possibilities, whilst upgrading by very small increments (since the M1 tech jump). Thanks for the vids, ive seen like 4 of them to get a good perspective on the M lineage.
