Hi, I got a comment from LohiKarhu734, "I know nothing of what your business is, but you are a great teacher". Thank you for the comment, so I thought this might help. Ryan's Sheetmetal shaping podcast that I did two months ago.
Product review of Pat Woods power hammer apron
zhlédnutí 154Před 21 dnem
Fay Butler had recommended going to see Pat Woods for a power hammer apron after I took my first class with Fay. I highly recommend it and if you want to know more, contact Pat Woods on Instagram @Patwoods74, tell him that I sent you. Thanks for watching, Bill
Were those panels stamped to shape or hand formed at the factory?
Hmmm... i believe that is due to the elasticity of the plastic, like grit 60 (steel) to 600 (delrin). I wonder how a 6000 would be, maybe rubber, but reinforced like tires. maybe replace block & polish
Do you do any work for the trolley museum?
Outstanding.
Mr. Tromblay, your CZcams video on forming a sheet metal reverse-curve just popped into my feed. Yours is the clearest explanation and example on the topic that I have seen. Your understanding and verbal skills are exemplary. I am looking forward to viewing your other video postings!
What method did you use to shrink the rolled over edge on the Corsair part? When shrinking this area does the shape in the reverse change? It seems like it would be similar to the Model A front fender repair I made at the running board area during last year's flock to the shop at Pat Brubaker's (Imperial wheeling machines).
Great demonstration Bill
This was so well explained thank you very much I’ve been binge watching your videos. Thank you for spending the extra time making these.
Thank you for watching
I'm so glad I found your channel, I really like how you simply explain a difficult process...
Glad you enjoy it!
Well done Bill!
Hello from Racine Wisconsin!!
Nice to hear from you
Thanks for this Bill great information. Cheers Dave from Australia
Absolutely fantastic explanation Bill! This is the first useful demonstration I have seen of how to make a reverse-curve - thank you!
Your welcome
Another great video- thank you, Bill.
Bill, enjoy all your videos. Thanx for sharing all the information with us. Tom
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Great video. I have one of your plastic die sets. They work great.
Would l be right in thinking , you would need like a linear shaped die if the panel has more shape in one direction than the other, seeing the soft dies only form the metal or you can just use the radius dies to level the metal!
Hi, I have not found the need for plastic linear shaped dies. Most panels have more shape in one direction than the other, I use a die that fits into the tighter of the two radius and it works well.
For the experienced metal shaper this channel is absolutely brilliant,
Great stuff !
Superb explanation!
Great video!!!
I think you have found another career, as a presenter. Well done.
Thanks again for making another great video. Definitely like the details you always give. Great tip with using the cheat sheets. I'm definitely going to do the same. I have done something similar for other things in my shop.
Thank for the shrinking lesson. Makes me want to play with the pullmax. Cheat sheets on the machines is a great idea. I use it on riveting, sheet metal layout, etc. Find a good technique that works for you and get good results.
Good stuff. Thanks for posting
Great job again, Bill!
very beautiful video!! Where did you buy your thumbnails?
Hi, These steel dies were purchased from Stan Fulton and Fulton Metal works. You can purchase them from Trick tools on-line as well.
Great video. When you do your initial setup and set your shut height do you adjust your fore and aft to contact then adjust to material thickness or material thickness plus clearance? You touched on the fore and aft on the power hammer video but I was curious to how you go about it in Pullmax or is it not as important?
Hi, I always set the dies flush at the front of the die. I only move the lower for or aft if I'm shaping very thin material or material thicker than .060".
EXCELLENT !!
Great video on metal shaping. Thank you for sharing this information
Another superb report. Thanks Bill.
Great videos William! Keep them coming 👍🏻👍🏻
Great demo and video, very informative with zero b.s! Keep em coming... Thank you
Love the integrity, Bill. These videos are really good. Thanks for investing your time to help us learn. Very cool.
You have explained why I'm having difficulty with my vibrasheer... only 1mm stroke. Just as you said, goes in easy but difficult to pull out. Cheers
Awesome presentation Bill!!
Thanks Bill. Good info presented concisely. Would you please post your welding set-up parameters? I don't think I've ever found the "sweet spot" with my Miller Dynasty 200 and would like to try your set-up.
Some of my machines that only have say one or two “settings” I have just wrote them on the machine with sharpie
Good job Thank you
Good stuff Bill!
Thanks. Very informative.

I can't find the link Bill, cheers.
Hi, I put a link above, still working out the whole CZcams thing..
Whats a good rpm for shrinking dies ? Thank you
Hi, Over a thousand hits per minute, but less than two thousand hits per minute.
Thanks. Trial and error gets some of us some of the way, but training from someone who knows is always quicker. Cheers
I know nothing about what your business is, but you're a really good teacher!
William, Well Done!! I feel your talent, knowledge and " down to earth " personality ; really comes thru in your video library you're creating. Please continue your efforts. It will become a wonderful contribution to all interested in expanding their talents! Once again . . . Well Done! thanks Jim @ metal fab
Hi, thank you for the kind note. Bill
Great tip! Thanks for posting
Thanks for these thumbnail videos, Bill. I really appreciate having your guidance on using this tooling.
