What size tip did you use?

I was like uh you are not going to put a clear coat on it??? It looks good right now but are you going to sand it down and then apply more paint??? If so why are you taking off the tape???

where did you get the manifold you ended up using and how'd you make it look like that

Just know it's a art to painting , you go with the lines, you cover a whole piece at at time , you go evenly across from top to bottom or vice versa, you don't just start spraying all over, you don't hold it for to long in one spot, you get in the correct spray distance to evenly allow the paint to lay in it's correct place , you allow to dry then go over bad areas , or sand bad spots to go over ....

Im exited for you. I have the 560sel. Thats what i want to do. But i wNt to doit with the 6.2lt with the 6 speed transmission. I imagine i would get good gas mileage.

The only car I ever missed after I sold it, so I bought another one. Had a 96 first then got a 95. Drove it home 400 miles with 235k miles on it and it handled like a champ. Doesn't burn oil, everything electric works and I even have ice cold ac. I was getting 40mpg on the highway coming back. I didn't even need to stop for gas once! Never getting rid of this thing, it can haul so much stuff!

You won't use a 1.8 with a automotive spray gun unless your laying down thick high build primer or liquid Bondo. A 1.4 or 1.2 is what you'd use for finish coat paint. You probably could of done a better job if you'd practiced first and got your speed down. You moved to slow and focused on coverage so it ran. Light coats and you'll only need 15 minutes between laying down another coat.

Torsion bar adjustment controls ride height. The shock absorber is designed to absorb or dampen compression and rebound of the torsion bars and suspension.

I know this video is 5 years old but please don't waste your time and energy trying to do a toe adjustment if you know you have bad inner or outer tie rod ends. It will not hold an adjustment because the tie rod will move in and out under the pressure of stirring. If after his "adjustment" he would have turned the wheels to the left and right his measurements would have totally changed because of a bad tie rod end. If you're getting new tires for an older vehicle make sure you get a pre-alignment inspection by a trusted certified mechanic. Change out anything bad. Get your tires put on and get an alignment. One local mechanic has a saying that goes something like: "After spending all that money, saving all that money fixing it yourself, bring it to me and I'll fix it for you". Certain things are better left to a certified mechanic. Don't endanger your life or others.

Don't color sand for like a month, make sure it is hard and dry, enamel dries slowly

Its much easier and cheaper to use car paint and a spray gun on compressor

How did the paint job hold up after 3 years? I see videos on spraying with non automotive grade paint and wonder, do you regret not just doing to with more expensive paint or maybe you just resold it?

That seems pretty legit to only use the constant power and switched/ start signal from the Merc. I'm putting an LS in a 92 500SL and I've been concerned with all the modules. I want to ditch the hydraulic convertible stuff too. I'm converting the steering box to front steer with W204 knuckles and a BMW E46 rack just to get exhaust clearance. Haven't seen an update on this but it looks fun.
