ROK Marine Corps Duck Hunter Camo Uniform
Hi guys today we're taking a look at a pair of Korean Marine Corps uniforms in the Duck Hunter camo pattern. This pattern was initially adopted by U.S. Marines in WWII but found itself in use by the ROK in the Vietnam War era, most notably used by their Marine Corps and Special Forces Groups.

Swiss Army Low Ankle Boots with Gaiters 1950s-70s
zhlédnutí 166Před měsícem
Hi guy today we're looking at a pair of Swiss Army Boots from 1964. This style of low ankle boot was used in conjunction with different styles of gaiters until the mid 70s I believe. There was an intermediary boot used up until the early 90s. If you have any information about the boots used during the period between the mid 70s and early 90s, please let me know.

Hi guys today we're going to be taking a look at another piece of South Korean equiptment in the Granite-B pattern. Today we're looking at their wet weather snow/ski parka. These are highly sought after in the surplus market due to their practicality and effectiveness in snowy environments. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test it out in the snow, as I don't live in an area where it snows. ...
Swiss Army Taz 57/75 Alpenflage Uniform

Hi guys today we're looking at one my favorite camouflage patterns on one of the most interesting uniform designs out there. This Swiss Army Taz 57/75 uniform was used by the Swiss Army from approximately 1960-1993. It is quite unique due to the red dominant pattern and is visually striking. Unlike many other countries at the time which adopted load bearing systems, typically consisting of a be...
SWAT Style Snapgrid Vest Second Chance Body Armor

Hi guys today we're looking at a very interesting piece of body armor. This law enforcement kevlar vest is the relatively uncommon "snap grid" style of vest which uses metal snaps in addition to velcro in order to secure attachements like med pouches at other things. These weren't in style for very long but when they were, they were used by prominent departments such as the LAPD. I'm not sure i...

Hi guys today we’re taking a look at a F1 style cut jacket used by the Belgian Armed Forces. This jacket seems very utilitarian with a multitude of pockets and the material it’s constructed from is quite tough and durable as well.
U.S. Military Combat Boots, Mildew & Water Resistant, Direct Molded Sole

Hi guys today we're taking a look at a pair of boots used by most branches of the U.S. military from about 1984 to 2004, when they were replaced by tan, non leather boots. Also during this time jungle boots were still being worn. There were some minor changes introduced over the years in these boots including the heel eventually becoming one rubber piece and the number of speed lacing eyelets c...

Hi guys today we're taking a look at 3 Polish uniforms. I've featured all on my channel before, but now I'm going to compare them side by side. As you can tell they changed quite a bit over the years. Apparently now the Polish armed forces is going to be transitioning away from the Pantera pattern on the right, and introduce their own new pattern. Also I'm going to be shifting uploads from ever...
Russian Armed Forces Berezka Windbreaker

Hey guys today's piece is a Berezka pattern windbreaker I've had for a while now. I'm pretty sure this is my only Russian piece. I ended up going with the USSR flag in the thumbnail because the pattern was introduced under them, however this is likely a contemporary piece used by the Russian Federation Armed Forces. Even then, it might be commercial, there is very little identifying information.
East German Fallschirmjäger Paratrooper Jump Boots

Hey guys today we're taking a look at the final generation of East German Fallschirmjager boots. I got these boots brand new, as there were many sold off as surplus after the reunification of East Germany. These are really cool for a number of reasons you'll find out after watching the video. In addition to FJ, Diensteit IX used them as well.
ERDL Camo Comparison: 69 Jungle vs 78 RDF

ERDL was developed as early as 1948 by Natick Labs but didn't see use until the mid 60s. Over the years it saw action in Vietnam and later was even worn up to the early 80s. Woodland was basically a an upscaled version of ERDL with sharper shapes, and served all branches of the military until the early 2000s. Learn how ERDL changed over time in this in depth video.

Hi guys today we're going to be taking a look at a very clean example of the Outer Tactical Vest part of the Interceptor Body armor system. This was introduced in the early 2000s and it a pretty iconic piece of gear being seen worn in the Invasion of Iraq in 2003 by primarily U.S. Marines in DCUs. This piece doesn't have any SAPIs but does have the soft Kevlar backing.

Great video and interesting camouflage. Mexico also used the duck hunter pattern in the 1970’s which is interesting to find. Any particular item you’re still looking for to add your collection? I’m always curious to know what other collectors are looking for. Keep up the great work.
Well, a real piece of Urban-T/T-Block would be cool though genuine pieces are ridiculously expensive. I've also been looking for the Romanian M1990 camo pattern used by their police forces which is purple/blue instead of the usually green, brown and orange colors.
I want some beogam or hunter camouflage like that. Even world war 2 reversible frogskin. Such a cool family of camo's.
Love this camo. I've got a set of light coloured ones. More commonly worn by reserve forces (Yebigun).
Spent 2 week on the field as a geologist with it. 10/10 uniform, 10/10 wearable backpack
The reason for the short sleeves was to stop their arms from dragging on the floor !! 😂🤣(That's a joke !! 😆)The little internal pocket was as you said for a pocket knife.. by the size of it probably the 'Swiss Champion' ! lol
Awesome ! ..I have a few of these !! ..the backpack is cool too ! ..the story goes that the Czechoslovakian army inherited the original pattern off the Germans stored in their warehouses after WW2 and it ended up being bought by the Swiss Army ..In Switzerland that red works really well so I have heard.. also it used to mess with the night vision goggles of the time.. as red becomes grey using those old 'Noctovisor' The whopping great hood was used whilst wearing a helmet !! the rear pouches were used for medical kit.. food and a knife fork and spoon kit ! The funny clip on the front was for the helmet ! ..awesome !! Wonderful that you have the rank slides.. never seen those before. There are amazing forums online about these TAZ jackets !!
Yes I bought the rank tabs from a Swiss website actually, postage wasn't too bad as they fit in a letter.
A waterproof wax/dubbin will soak into those boots and regenerate the leather !! Minerva was a Roman goddess of wisdom ..awesome !! ..I bet she was hot !! 😆😂
Those boots are real beetle crushers !!.. awesome !! I wore gaiters like that in the Royal Marines Reserves when I was training.. and they really do support your ankles on uneven ground carrying heavy waterlogged kit in the 'British summer' !! lol ! Great review !!
Those jackets flat iron up with razor sharp creases.. superb !!
Woah !.. this is really cool !! I love the DCU pattern and have more than a few items in my collection in that camo including a RAID modified jacket which is my favorite !! Great review here bro !! ..that's a keeper.. as the jackets are in abundance in small sizes but very rare in a larger size like this one ! ..awesome !!
Is this legal to wear in public?
In the United States? Yes. In Ireland, definitely not as a civilian
Sritex is an Indonesian company. They produce uniforms for other countries too
I hate how all these unique camos are being thrown out for mediocre in any non khaki colored environment multicam
Old is gold
I’m trying to get those thick Korean boot blousers. I found them online but it’s only been from Korean stores in Korea that don’t ship to the US and/or require a Korean phone number to sign up for the site. Do you know where I can find them?
Hmm I haven't really seen many floating online.
@@GearReview23 does your source in Vietnam have a website or contact info?

Thank you very much!
Korean here, yes its bit odd that Ski Parka is bit more greenish. mine is more greener then summer pattern although its used in cold weather like winter or late fall.
I found multiple military shirts and uniforms in a thrift store or “ukay ukay” I got 2 korean uniforms. A tonghab from Sgt. Kim who belongs from the 3rd army corps in Korean army. Another is granite b from a lieutenant. You can get military uniforms in ukay ukay for $1 to $20 but you have to dig around. I got both for $2-$3 bucks. Ukay Ukay is a thrift store where you need to dig around until you get what you need ans they are mostly used. Philippines 🇵🇭
That sounds pretty cool. One day I'll have to make a trip to one of those countries that has as huge surplus market like Vietnam, Thailand or the Phillipines so I can get some rare uniforms at a cheap price.
@@GearReview23 yeah, asian countries have a stockpile of uniforms. Mostly because former servicemembers or vets prefer to part ways with their uniforms. I recently got a dress blues with the awards and rank boards intact bearing the rank if colonel. I got for $25
i have their 2009 winter jacket, i was going to buy the pants but i fell short on money, so unfortunate...
Nice video brother, this channel deserves more subs
I have the field pants. Early pants that aren't ripstop. Literally love them. I want a field jacket now! The material is a "baumwolle" material like mix & seems very similar to my German flecktarn jacket in material... very similar materials actually almost identical weave & feel, weight. Belgium material maybe being a touch lighter.
It seems to be built pretty tough.
been trying to hunt some of these down myself, did the same as you've described, but the last few months seem to be absolutely horrible for stock availability - sizes like 27.5 are too small. I'd suggest getting your hands on the similar zipped pilot boots aswell, they're something I've personally worn and are quite nice
Huh I wasn't aware of those, I'll have to look into it
@@GearReview23 yeh, if you do go and buy any, they should be **cheaper** than these paratrooper boots you've bought. They also have their own history of designs, the most recent pair having identical soles to the shoes in this video, and the older ones having goodyear welted black soles. I often find the term "nva fliegerstiefel" helps to find them a bit better, and theres a few other terms too
@@mic-ho1wt You know what, I actually have seen photos of them. I just haven't stumbled upon any for sale. Any reason why they'd be cheaper? I'd expect they're more uncommon than these
That greats collecteble item . A couple south Korean very hard to find
100% sure that's a "C" for 1983 like my one.😀
British camo is better for me and overall a better uniform.
The sewn bits on the back are graduated pleats. Many people unpicked them as it gave and extra 1.5” of chest and torso.
Try to get indonesian army
WTF???
very cool boots!! if only they were your size, but to be honest they look TINY
These fit me lol.
I have a mint unissued Cookson & Clegg 68' in XL Rare as hens teeth
I think that each military may, just possibly, have designed a camo pattern to suit their enviromement. Simples!
They used this in Indochina and Algeria after ww2 up until the late 1970’s
Cool video
How do you read the size construction
i from China do u like vietnamese army uniform or u just don t like it 😂😂
i from China do u like vietnamese army uniform or u just don t like it 😂😂
In the field, would troops be given replacement magazines of ammunition or would it be in some type of clip to fill up the empty magazines ? Would these be in bandoliers ?
That's a good question, I can ask around
@@GearReview23 Thanks ! I notice that the AK47 doesn't have the guide rails to load from 'stripper' clips. Some countries magazine fed weapons do, like the Czech one. Also, UK trialled an FN SLR with this ability in 1950's, but didn't adopt. Adrian; UK/England
I just want to say I love the work that you do here man, and that i am so glad i found this little gem of a channel. Keep it up, I'm rooting for you ;)
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Fun fact "British DPM" is not actually British, Its Dutch
That thing's cool
Sickkkk
Dutch military garments are some of the highest quality out there!
Yes, it's true that I have a jacket that my grandfather left behind during the lotus operation in East Timor
Got any luck finding S. Korean Noodles/Waves camo? Pretty hard to find
Not yet
Having been issues with 68 pattern jackets in the 70s and early 80s I was a bit surprised when some years ago I ordered a much later 84 style DPM jacket to spare my Barbour jacket when renovating a new house and garden. I wondered where the buttons had gone, what was with the Velcro, and why the hood had a copper stiffener. So thanks for explaining the change so clearly. Prefer the old style at least for present tasks. And the pre 68 olive drab jacket was very nice too.
You know where I can get a pair of these? They seem to be really rare. You keep them in Great condition!
Try German Ebay. Ebay.de or eBay Kleinanzeigen. They won't be too hard to find there, but you will have to find someone from Germany willing to purchase them for you and then pay them to ship to them to you. That's what I did.
Nice Vid. The inside zippered pocket is for a soldier's papers and documents. The inside pouch across the back is for a blanket. This whole M70 suit seems to be a very Swiss idea, just look at how much stuff they stuffed into a Swiss army knife.
Yeah the arm length on those combat smocks. I have tried a few on and the arms are way too short. I have a pair of the combat trousers from the same date and they are the most heavy duty trousers of all time. I use them on canoe expeditions, they are super hard wearing, heavy fabric, great for rough country conditions and working around the camp.
Awesome video! Love my TAZ 57 model 70 jacket!
I found a new pair of 90's jungle boots (RO Search) and just got a pair of these all leathers for fall/winter. I love that this sole has the look of the Panama sole with better traction. My all-leather ones from 93 came in a Altama box, added better insoles and elastic laces for more comfort.
Please note the fact you have this a criminal act took place, it is illegal to sell or have this in your possession in Ireland and old kit is supposed to be destroyed after being handed into the stores and CQMS etc..... This law is in place since the troubles and still on the books. We cannot even wear parts of this off duty or people who have since left the army
Literally no other than uptight nerds care about that little man
@@paste5004 Its called the law and civilans like you wouldnt understand as your a little keyboard warrior that never served...Now toddle on back to COD you Walt...
It's illegal to have military issued items, which you can't definitely tell these are from this video. A company called Arktis makes replica clothing which isn't illegal to own. Plus he's in America, Irish law doesn't apply.
