Faces of the Archives: Helen talks about the Distington Engineering Company.
Helen Leech, Digitisation Technician at Cumbria Archives, talks about the collection of photos from the Distington Engineering Company. The Archives Service has digitised some 18 000 photos of the company, which was taken over by the British Steel Corporation in 1967. The photos range from the 1950s to the 1980s and can be seen at the Whitehaven Archives Centre (whitehaven.archives@cumberland.gov.uk).
