SEC Spring Game Takeaways from Every Game This Past Weekend, Mark Pope Introduced at Kentucky
There is no good reason for any team to move from their existing conference into the SEC or the Big Ten. You’ll never win a championship. You’ll never make it to the playoffs. Everyone, just stay put for two years and let’s see this thing play out into four major conferences having 16 teams each, with two divisions each. The television money will get handled, believe me. The only teams that will be pissed, are Colorado and Notre Dame. And who cares about them anyway?
Keep Scholarships at 85 and 20-25 Walk Ons.
Georgia couldn't keep the word out of their mouth ,when most athletes that are walk ons are just as good as 5 stars ,live with it
Wasn’t Stetson Bennett a walk-on?
I’m for spinning off the current version of college football as the NFL’s minor league and start over with “walk on’s” like college athletics was originally set up to do.
The LSU vs USC game at 12??? What is that. It's insane to ruin a great night game we could have had!? Don't they want a good atmosphere instead of boiling our players alive...
No more walk ons is terrible! We have a charity at South Carolina that gives walk on players scholarships. Right now it is 3 or 4 kids. Honestly these changes are just a huge nonsensical mess! College football is not the NFL, these are not pros but kids that need tons of development AND an education.
Florida State and Miami would be great
Put the Iron Bowl on Thanksgiving! As for corporate logos, they already wear their sports gear logo on their jerseys. With NCAA having to cough up $ under the House settlement, I would hope they wouldn't balk at corporate logos on fields/jerseys. I don’t like it, but it's easy to see that athletic departments are going to have to find new revenue streams, including many of the lower tier P4 and G5 programs.
Also don’t see Coach Beamer gettin the Axe at 5-7… Just don’t see AD Tanner lettin him go when you consider the time of year Coach Beamer was hired (Dec-6/7) with NSD being a little over a month later and the 80th Ranked Class that first season… Not unless the losses are BAD!!! Course ya Never Know but I’d give him One more year with the Recruitment Gettin Much Better Since that First Year!!! Spurs Up☝️ GO SCAR ‘EM UP!!! 🏈🏆✅
I think SCAR goes 7-5 to 8-4… SCAR football will be Better in “2024”!!! Beamer is Learning!!! The New Coaches Will Help… Especially since a Couple have Head Coaching Experience!!! 7-5 possibly 8-4✅ O-Line Running Game D-Fence Dual threat Qb Hopefully Sellers doesn’t make many “Rookie Mistakes”👍 After taking a purty good look at Our Schedule it’s Not as Daunting as one might think OK plays U-Texas (Officially UT which Demotes the Vols to UTjr) 😊 The week before Us Mizzu plays OK the week before Us We have byes before Ole Miss and Texas A&M… LSU still has D Questions… Plus some offensive changes!!! Plus get all three in… Williams Brice!!! UK should be better… Yet UK has Ga The Week After Us!!! Course there’s a couple others that could be the opposite or… Not so Tuff of an Opponent 🤷♂️ Bama has Vandy-Sorry Vandy but compared to Bama they have a Practice Game before SCAR… Which could make us the Same!!! They do have Ga before Vandy and UTjr after SCAR😊👍 Time to Get Some of these Unexpected W’s!!! Even more so in “2025”!!! Spurs Up☝️ GO SCAR ‘EM UP!!! 🏈🏆✅
Before the CFP debacle, I've favored FSU to the SEC due to geographic proximity. If FSU decides to bury the hatchet with ESPN, they would be an amazing value add for baseball in addition to football and better travel for the non-revenue sports. The same would apply to Clemson.
Oh nooooo FSU, please. Too much drama. FSU is like a hot chick, that after a few weeks you try to ignore and she calls the cops on you.
Yeah espn is the problem with ther agenda
10-2
5:14 that’s him not understanding the South. I’ll die for a walk on. There’s not reason we should have less that what we had. Thousands of life’s have been saved with Walk on jobs
If Theresa one single player worth his weight in salt in every team there will never be an end to walk on’s. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Players gotta take a stand for the future
This would not be beneficial for either party
While on board 100% with the revenue sharing, I think you’re going to see a lot of men’s Olympic sports dropped at many schools due to Title 9 requirements. There won’t be money left anymore to subsidize those sports.
Never going to happen.
UNC and UVA to SEC! FSU and Clemson to stay in ACC or move to expanded Big 12. FSU might have a chance of moving to the B1G, but I believe that Miami is in their way, as they bring the Miami TV market to the table. Plus, FSU's party school rep hurts them.
Being a party school helps you, dude. Get real!
Miami has no tv market! Fsu brings the views and $$$$
Clearly you have no idea how much viewership FSU has; it’s more than most SEC teams believe it or not.
You sir, are clueless…
You sound so stupid
Aggie here, about the walk-ons. I'm all for making sure the players get every opportunity that comes their way, monetary and otherwise. I don't like the idea of eliminating walk-ons. There's gotta be a way to still let guys try to fulfill their dreams. There needs to be some considerable flexibility when it comes to students trying to join their team.
Howdy fellow Aggiefan here also. (SHSU 88-)Long time Aggie family(dad Class of 50) Walk Ons are tradition and We need to continue these traditions.
FSU doesn't deserve to be in the SEC. They had their chance and said "its to hard". Let them go to the Big 12
I Agree, FSU should not be admitted into the SEC. FSU ➡️ B1G.
*SEC doesn’t deserve FSU
FSU has a great record against the SEC , you lost the best part of your mind
UF is a pitiful program. Last in the state to win a natty (despite being oldest program), drops Miami in the 80s to avoid an annual loss, a mere two out-of-state non-conference regular season games since 1991 (both losses), all-time losing record to Miami, and losing record to FSU since Bowden took over in the 1970s (FSU was a doormat prior to that). Oh, and Spurrier went 5-10-1 against FSU and Miami and needed 8 quarters against FSU to win his natty.
That first sentence should have specified football because overall, Florida is a better program, and you know it. There's a flaw in your logic. You don't take into consideration that Florida has always played in a better league. Sure, a one-off game is great for bragging rights. But a team that has to face more top-tier talent challenges attrition. The attrition level FSU goes through vs Florida isn't comparable by the time rivalryweek comes around. Some might claim those are excuses, but it's a statistical fact when you look at 18 years of the most drafted players of compare the size of the men on the line of scrimmage. That's why I believe the SEC is best prepared for the playoffs. I'm sure you'll still think Florida is a pitiful program after this season, too.
@@tremoore61 My only contention is that UF football has a well entrenched history of underperforming, particularly when compared to its in-state rivals. I don’t see how any point/excuse you make refutes that reality.
@LoCoVANole I'll give you a clear example. If Florida played FSU's schedule this year and FSU played Florida's.... when they meet at the end of the season do you think that would have any effect on the game? I mean y'all just came off a season of losing your starting QB.
Didn't Bobby Bowden say the SEC was to difficult? Why does FSU deserve to be in the SEC? Let them go to the Big 12
@@dangerousdylan6262you are really terrified of them Noles huh😂😂😂😂don’t be scared
I think Florida State would be a great addition to the SEC. And I also think Louisville would be a great addition. It would only make the SEC stronger.
Fsu and Clemson would be great for the sec
Clemson and FSU would be great additions to the SEC!
To note, as well, in regards to FSU and/or Clemson joining the SEC, Alabama and Auburn share the same state as does Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Also, they are already competing with FSU and/or Clemson for instate Recruits. 🤷♂️ ✌🍊🧡
To note, I think the SEC wants FSU and Clemson but won't/can't say otherwise. But the situation you laid out is different. Those were all founding members because Georgia and Georgia Tech, LSU and Tulane, & Sewanee could have added to make 3 Tennessee schools to your example. The idea of expansion is different. In the SEC's eyes, it has the flagship program or flagship programs in each of the states it occupies. And the goal is to keep getting the top program in a new state, but Clemson & FSU are worth altering those plans.
Already have roster caps i rhought
No doubt UGA has a great team and has had a great run but if you say they have not had the benefit of less than "hard" schedules you're kidding yourself.
If they are paying the players.. all players should be walk ons... no scholarships
Idiocy
Oklahoma will beat Texas this upcoming season
So are they gonna get rid of the Bulsworth Award if they get rid of walk-ons??? But since Kirby Smart said walk-ons are important they are not gonna get rid of them LOL
The coaches will steer the decisions or it will be corrected later. Walkons will continue.
Billy N is saying "I was lied to by the old collective."
Recruiting itself has always been a manipulative thing now you add money to it hmmm 🤔 this is what you get lol 😂
The statements by Kirby and Billy are very telling. Kirby was parsing, which means there is more there but probably not much. More than likely, he got a briefing from Jaden’s legal team and wanted to ensure this drama wasn’t being brought in house. Billy went to extra mile to comment on his actions. Probably means his legal team feels good about their position in all this. He will probably be dropped from the suit soon. In the end what Kirby said which was “sign of the times” is the worst part. This could become common for lots of reasons. NIL will ruin college football. Mostly because these kids are not mature enough to handle this money and most are sounded by bad influences (agents, family etc) that have their own agendas
I don’t think Deboer allows himself to get caught up in any one thing. That’s why he stays so grounded during the games. I can’t wait to see him coach at Alabama.
Thank you for all the great info!!!
Like the new intro music
17:35 This is exactly why you can think Texas is overrated. Texas did beat Alabama but they didn't follow it up and beat Oklahoma. If Texas had beaten Oklahoma then perhaps I wouldn't be doubting them, but I just feel like they're going to drop a few games.
Rivalry games are always 50/50. You’re looking giving the OU game more credit than it deserves. Not to mention the fact Texas QB played Injured for the whole year and still lead them to a championship and playoff battle. Just to lose by 6 points.
Can’t wait to watch these Texas fans upset at how their season goes.
@chancecrook6210 they're too talented to lose more than 2-3 games. Only loss this year is to maybe Georgia in the regular season and that's only a-1.5 in favor of Georgia. They're taking care of Michigan. OU will be a revenge game. At the Aggies will be interesting
Without plain stupid mistakes the Gamecocks would have beaten LSU both times. The officiating was plain terrible in both games... What's up with that?? The team is fully capable to beat the wolfpack but they need to clean dumb mistakes up. The home atmosphere at NC State is better to deal with than Clemson or UNC. If we get through the regional we're going to Georgia I think. That's definitely winnable too. But you never know what our team is up to 😐
Sec is always tough until we play them and then its a bunch of excuses!! Georgia we didnt care if we won(Sugar bowl).Alabama dont lose at night at home until texas beat them by double digits last year.Oh yeah, it was more excuses (We only won because it was early in the season(.Lol.Last time I checked Texas has a winning record against Lsu, alabama and Georgia and Texas A&M too.
Texas doesnt play Lsu this year and these people dont even know the schedule!!!Lol.
A&M. Lol.
If you get a speeding ticket, you don’t get fired from your job, not even punished. Why would it be any different?
These are not kids. These are college men.
You ppl in the SEC live in a bubble. OU is 7-0 all time vs the SEC in the regular season. They have a winning record against them in the post season. Your top dog teams recruit the same players the OU and Texas recruit and aren't winning them all. You act like it's a bunch of Pop Warner kids going into high school. Get over yourselves.
There isn't a bubble. The SEC consistently has the most NFL players produced and recruits the best. Since 2010 OU lost to Aggies, GA, Bama, LSU, beat FL and Auburn and a Bama team.
@@DH-rs6cq Well he quoted regular season and well he's right.
@@zophix-5741 I understand. It's an interesting exclusion is why I brought it up.
Ou also lost to Kansas and another cupcake last season. 😂
The SEC is not as tough as people make it out to be . Texas will when the SEC possibly a National Championship. its funny Texas beat the SEC champs last season . not only that michigan beat them as well lol. by the way Texas and Michigan will be on FOX noon this year. The big 12 was better than the SEC in the 1990s and early 2000.
All of are overrated 😂😂😂😂😂😂 We're talking BIG 10 FOR CHAMPIONS
