Looks like crap. Aspect ratio is wrong for GB games and will cause shimmering when scrolling, not to mention the sprites will be stretched.

I love those fake carts, glad it works on the retron, sometime those don't. I think that is the best way to enjoy a physical game experience. as long as the cart works and functions. without spending stupid re-sale value.

With the stock firmware for me? The thing that largely killed it is the screen's resolution. This form factor for me? Is GREAT to play RPGs on ... but the display's resolution kills that with NES and Genesis games since the text is totally unreadable. It PLAYS them PERFECTLY... just that damned display's resolution. Which caused me to buy the Ambernic 35XX at the time for, granted double the money? Is INFINITELY more capable than this could ever hope to be. This? To me? Is a COMPLETE waste of even 20 bucks.... and that hurts me because the form factor and display size are GREAT.

Get a 2tb ssd loaded from Etsy instead, put it in expansion bay. videos/cutscenes won’t lag like with a thumb drive or memory card

Man what a blast from the past. I remember buying this back in the day and being so, so disappointed. I had the horizontal version of this which was actually pretty good and even played a little ps1. So I bought this thing hoping it would be just as good. At the time therw was no custom firmware so you were stuck with the trash stock firmware. If memory serves right the screen for this thing was sourced from left over digital camera screens which is why it sucks so bad, it was never meant to handle the frame rate of a video game. The screen was washed out and the ghosting was horrendous. I ended up displaying it on a shelf and the next time I went to use it the SD card had corrupted itself and I couldn't track down the firmware so I threw it away haha. Thanks for the walk down memory lane! Its a reminder how far anbernic has come. This thing was hot E-waste at least at the time and I've had some fun on some of those junk famiclone handhelds. Maybe CFW made it worthwhile.

There are 2 version of the Jump Gate: PRO and non-pro. The pro version comes with 3 USB ports... I have both and can confirm that the PRO version does not have the issue wherein you have to reconnect the power after docking the RP4. Another thing to note: I saw in the Jump Gate manual that there is an option to update its firmware. Haven't tried this myself since I don't have a PC, but maybe perhaps that might solve the issue in the non-pro.

I tried restarting the console. I tried turning off the console completely, I tried closing the application. Literally everything I’ve said. But every time I click the “I with a circle on it” nothing pops up
