The brilliant person, and guitarist Vernon Reid.
Saw them in Montreal in early 2000s...that song got me hooked.drummer was amazing
When they did it in '88 with Jimmy Hall and Jimmy Nalls, DESTINATION became my favorite song, a badass NIGHTHAWKS original!
Unless it was Jimmy Thackery,Jan Zukowski,Mark Wenner and Pete Ragusa you never saw the "Nighthawks".They never were the same band after Thackery left.
@@jamesoliver2245 Jimmy Hall brought great vocal range and gospel goods, (added a sax to the harp of Mark, which had only been done once before in WAR, AND ADDED A 2ND HARP THAT WAS ALWAYS A COMPLETE BLOWOUT BETWEEN JIMMY AND MARK) that they never had before, and it added to so much as Pete showed amazing vocal talents singing soulful backup that he'd never shown before. Jimmy Nalls added more discipline and amazing ability when called for, and he was a better slide player. Greg Allman had the best inside comment on this, he told Rolling Stone that this is the Nighthawks year with the 2 Jimmys, and he'd taken the stage many times with the original 4. People have a hard time accepting changes in what was already great and powerful. I was quite shocked when Jimmy Thackery left, and enjoyed seeing his solo act each time he revisited NYC. But I got to see the band with 2 Jimmys often, in LA, Memphis, Nashville, PA, NJ and NYC. I never loved a band as much. I thought they had a chance to sell platinum if a major label pushed it through.
It's funny you chose to comment on a song with Thackery playing guitar.I saw them shortly after they made 10 Years Live. There was a magic between Thackery and Wenner that just wasn't there with the new lineup.I never thought Thackery had nearly the magic with the Drivers that there was in the original Nighthawks line up.I believe if they hadn't broke the band up they may have made it big.I'm (or was at one time) a pretty damned good harmonica player myself and it's about more than how technically good someone sings or plays.Sometimes for what ever reason there is a "magic"(I dont know what else to call it) between the members of a band that never happens when they breakup and I don't care how technically good you are if you don't have the magic you will never make it big.
@@jamesoliver2245 Nobody broke up the band. Thackery left to go solo, and the band replaced him. With a few guitarists, too, before Jimmy Nalls. And plenty of non-talents make it "big".
pile of shite dancing
This is an absolutely great song.
Acc sad this isn’t on spotify
I had forgotten this was a Status Quo album track. Great version, much rawer here!
Die beste Berliner Band der 80er! Amazing!

Back in the day, I don’t think I appreciated Barry as much as I do now...
Legend met him at a few of the feelgoods gigs

One of best bands ever, for my heart...♡♡♡.
Currently in uni dorms and i have this blasting every morning at 7.15am coz they're cunts
I have been trying to remember this song for about wks! Had the echoes of the opening chords in my head but couldn't work out what it was. Kept thinking of Bowie’s "Hours" & "Toy" albums, even "Buddha of Suburbia". So glad I finally remembered it is on Earl's album and that David came to him requesting he be on his album. Shit! Imagine DB asking to be on your album?! These two amazing artists were made to collaborate. Thanks Earl.
I learnt the Footsee Dance from watching Top of the Pops as a teenager. Whenever my request for it was played at discos, I'd usually be the only one dancing. I was 53 when this was filmed, at a friend's 50th birthday party. ,

Most underrated band
Great tune agreed , genius ♥️
saw these guys , in a bar , in nj, in 75 or so, fuckin jammed!
Is Magazine much better than the Buzzcocks ? I think so. But you can disagree.
They are way better than the Buzzcocks
Love the guitars in the intro. Great song.
Vini Reilly phoned me, completely wankered, with a Manc accent that was not used for the B.B.C. He MADE Viva Hate. This is better than Penetration, because punk had a short life span. You play with fire...
where can I get the lyrics of this song?
Has the CD at 12!!!! My bro worked at a radio station.
John Frusciante
Love this album!!! Kicking
*I LOVE BANDS THAT PLAY SONGS ABOUT ME*

Awesome - great to hear this again, brings late 70s Manchester flooding back
Better than feeling nothing at all!
Why did he bother?
Used to sit in my front room, a live room, Garrard 401 turntable, 1966 Pioneer Multipl
Further to Sundays comment, Drunk i believe,. Many years ago, i had a live music room, no furniture to be honest, in there was a Garrard 401 Turntable, Pioneer Multiplex Amp, EC34 power valves separate phono stage, Mission 760 speakers on Atacama stands, and Cable Talk 4 connections. Absolute bliss, spend all night listening to Eroica and Fruit at the Bottom. Was a lot younger then, but who cares anymore, not much point! Take care
Wonderful song..... CLASSIC Magazine. Let's have another tour !
These guys were the best. Discovered them by accident thirty years ago and haven't stopped listening.
Fretless bass.
No, just a badass Ovation Magnum with chorus.
Get down!
