Hello, My name is Erik Lundgren and I have been working as an artist since the early 80s.
Mainly watercolors. My videos show how I paint with watercolor,
hopefully you can get something out of them.
I am a friend of the limited palette, as few colors as possible in the same painting,
For this reason I specify the water colors that I have used in a painting, sometimes
four, often three and occasionally only two.

The Academic Society house. The building often referred to as the AF-borgen (AF Castle) is a structure from the mid-1800s. It serves as a meeting place for student life and is also used by ordinary Lund residents. About 60 student organizations are housed there, but private individuals can also rent the premises. The painting is made on Two Rivers handmade paper, 600g (300lb) cold-pressed. The ...

This painting is from an exercise for my students in Lund, it is the second of a total of four. The idea of the exercise is not to be so meticulous, they were given the task of painting four onions in two hours. It doesn't sound like too many, but for some it was. The video shows the entire painting process. Only some drying time is cut out. The colors are Quinacridone Rose, burnt sienna, Ind...

This painting is from 2022, I didn't really plan to post it because the film is a bit overexposed and I missed recording when I painted the tree. But the painting is decent, so I thought: why not. Please enjoy. I did this wet-on-wet exercise for my students in Lund. The painting is on Canson Heritage paper, rough grain, 140 lb (300 gr) with Phthalo Blue, Quinacridone Rose and Nickel Azo Yellow. Three primary colors in other words, so a little practice in color mixing as well.

En kongenial film
Nice! Table linen looks great beneath the apple.
Very unique
Nice, clean, simple landscape! Any doctor or dentist office would love to have that hanging in their offices! K.I.S.S always works great!
Beautiful!
Bello!
Fantastiskt.
💛👍
A lovely selection of paints. It was interesting to see you mix brown from the green gold and the perylene maroon. I use a somewhat similar mix to make an orange-brown colour.
First!
Wow, this is lovely. Beautiful work.
Beautiful painting! Love your style!
Have to say hi 👋🏼 😊
❄️🌨️🏠🌲
The painting looks so ethereal and misty. Very beautiful. Your techniques always are informative and amazing. Thank you very much.
It’s interesting how you used neat Lemon Yellow for the sunset. It works, even though I don’t associate cool yellows with sunsets.
👻👋🏼
awesome light and shadow
Wonderful. You make it look so easy. Thank you for all of your videos.
Thank you, a vey nice composition. I would never have thought of using this triad. You are masterful at putting the water in watercolor.
15:29 Hi Erik 👋🏼. Did you mix white gouache with your paint? You painted a lighter colour over a dark colour, so I am guessing you used an opaque white?
You're absolutely right, it's white gouache mixed with the same green I used for the reeds earlier. (Inadequate planning calls for desperate measures.)
@@ErikLundgren 😂. Thanks!
7:14 Using short strokes of water to create backruns in the in the shape of grass was very effective.
Beautiful. Thank you
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I like how you kept tilting your board to spread the paint. That gives a different effect to the using a brush.
First!
you captured a snowy forest scene beautifully! I am encouraged to try this!
Gorgeous! I also liked the effect on the trees before you removed the masking fluid
Three colours and one brush to achieve a lovely painting. Thank you for such a marvellous demonstration of how little is needed by a talented painter.
Thanks for another instructional video 😊.
Absolutely beautiful Erik!
A wonderful painting, all done with just one brush... so impressive. Thank you for sharing.
I like to use only one brush in a painting, it's easier and you get a more cohesive calligraphy.
Bellissimo, splendido tutorial !! Trovo le pietre e l'acqua molto belle da dipingere. Tu lo fai splendidamente... Grazie davvero!!
Thank you for this beautiful serene visual experience. Simply lovely.❤
Thank you very much for your beautiful demonstrations. So it's not forbidden to make a decent sketch beforehand and almost take the interpretation off the viewer's hands. My watercolors look similarly "technical".
Forbidden? No, essential!
Wonderful!😊
If you do not want to-share your work, your methods, why are you making these videos?
Watching you work is too close up, nearly impossible to learn anything, for that matter barely show result. 2-3 seconds.
This is so beautiful! May I ask if you dry the paper completely between painting the layers of the sky? And how do you get the watercolor on the dip pen? Do you transfer it with the brush? Thank you! I will practice making a smooth blended sky like this.
Yes, it is important that the paper is completely dry before a new layer of paint is applied. I transfer the color with a brush. You can read more about how I use dip pen on my blog: akvarell.se/2024/04/07/dip-pen/
Beautiful painting 🙏🏻 thank you for sharing your art 🤗
I like your paintings a lot. The way you used the blue. I always painted my trees but I can see for winter trees pen-work is efficient.
You painted a beautiful a winter scene, thank you. I learned a lot watching.
Thank you for sharing your work. I always enjoy seeing you work with a single set of primaries. Your mixes are amazing!
Stupendo 👏👏👏
Beautiful 😍
Awesome style. Love it.
Thank you for this peaceful content x
It's very beautiful. It's crazy how much lighter the sea and sky look when dry.
Phthalo blue is a color that loses a lot of value when it dries. (Something to consider before painting with it.)
Why did you choose only transparent paints ( highly staining)?
I usually choose colors with similar properties for a painting, transparent colors often float well in water, this is good for this painting. They are often staining, but that doesn't matter in this context.
I’m not sure why you are using music that is intended to put people to sleep. I cannot imagine why CZcams artists think of themselves as able to choose music for their lessons. Leave it out. We have our own music.
