    I have been considering upgrading to one of these as my "forever" boat.....did you ever determine the cause? Was it a manufacturing defect? I heard there's keel bulb issues with the 2005-2009 RK models. Hope you got it repaired successfully.

    • @mosgarage2776
      @mosgarage2776 Před měsícem

      The composites shop that is currently repairing it made a good point - they think that this could be possibly be like a fuseable link. In other words if you strike something with the keel it breaks vs. the boat. Also, our boat had previously lost its keel under the previous owner when it came off its mooring and ran aground. So who knows if that caused any weakening.

    @mr.e7022 Před 2 měsíci

    Well I was considering a Seaward 32RK until this happened to you. The construction method of just glass the rod to the keel is IMHO not sufficient to sustain collision loads. The rod should extend all the way into the bulb. Then again I'm not a naval architect. Is the top part of the keel foam filler?

    Hello, We also purchased a powered cooler for our 2010 26 RK. I'm in the process of installing two 100 watt solar panels on the bimini to charge a dedicated AGM battery that will power the cooler. I'm a woodworker so this is a little baptism by (electrical) fire, as you also stated. Something you showed in your installation raised a red flag from my understanding of marine appropriate wiring. The extension cord that you used for the inverter to outlet run is not tinned boat cable and may create an issue down the road. Jeffrey

    Glad I found your channel. We are in the market for another sailboat since we just sold our Hunter 36. Looking to down size and the Seaward 32 RK and 26 RK are on the short list. There seems to be far more 26 RKs for sale than 32's. Questions: 1. Do you find the limited fuel and water tankage to be a hindrance? Ever wish you had more power to fight current and/or windage? How does she sail on all points? We live in Maryland and are considering doing the great loop. Nice scenery up there in the PNW. I lived in Ferndale and Bellingham YEARS ago.

      We love our 26rk she is very versatile, especially since she has standing headroom for a trailerable boat! Tankage is ok. WE have a 2YM15 yanmar that burns .4 gallon per hour with a 6 gallon tank. Water is 20 gallons and black water is 15. We try to do 4 days on the hook/mooring ball followed by 1 day in the marina. Works ell for us

    Wow. Alot of wrinkles, just did mg convertible and just patience and finesse I was able to work out all wrinkles, plus all the gaps at kick panels with the floor showing I installed carpet there before putting the kit carpet in. That would be upset alot of customers getting a interior back looking like that

    • @mosgarage2776

      My wife and I spent a TON of time trying to figure it out. Lots of curves and variation on the full wheel arch of the GT and a completely flat piece of carpet did not agree with each other (or my wife and I for that matter) Without ever having installed carpet in a car before and knowing what I know now I would have purchased the pre-formed carpet kit. It’s worth noting that I installed the “Budget” kit from Moss.
