'Widmung', or 'dedication' in English, was written by Robert Schumann as a wedding gift for his wife, Clara. It belongs to the song cycle 'Myrthen', which was composed in 1840. Age: 19 Accompaniment credits: czcams.com/video/LZH7VOXvQmA/video.html
Au Bord de l'Eau - Gabriel Fauré

Age: 18 Pianist: wishes to remain anonymous (but thank you for your wonderful playing!) Au Bord de l’Eau, composed in 1875, features a compelling contention between the transience of time and human temporal constrictions. The singer's conviction that love will survive the passing of time is refuted by the fluidity of Fauré’s compositional style. This is demonstrated through the initial tempo ma...
how did you make youe final piece ? are they real mirrors stuck onto card ?
Yes! They are a mix of mirrors and drawings stuck on the 3D model made with polyboard.
Wow truly amazing. You will go on to do. With great things with your unique, creative flair
Thank you! That’s very encouraging 😊
Excellent explanations and techniques 😊
beautiful and moving voice. crystal -clear and powerful diction. I am a tenor. I also like singing this song. with deep sympathy from South Korea.
What a fabulous, talented young lady you are, good luck in the future.
0:50 Wow you've done beautifully!!! as a russian myself you know I'm amazed that you painted all these letters eventhough it's your foreign language😭🌸🥺✨💚 You have a wonderful sketchbook btw:) P.S. 🇷🇺🇺🇦☮️
This really helps me with art book trying to complete it
Hi! Do you refer any artist in chiaroscuro works?
i loved watching this, i am also doing light as a project and i feel we are at a similar skill level and so it’s very inspiring
How is AS level art different from A level art?
I love how Schumann quotes Schubert's "Ave Maria" at the end. It emphasizes the song's pure nature. You did a beautiful job with this!
Was this for cambridge exams?
This was for my Art A Level exams x
Well wow 😱😲
Brava!!! You're amazing!!
Thank you so much!
thank p
Excelente diquiçao e técnica!
Hi, what does the hair spray do over the charcoal? Do you have any tips for working with charcoal, it seems really interesting!
Thank you! Literally any kind will do, I just used whatever my mum had! My tip would be to use a tissue so the oils from your hands don't interfere with your drawing!
The hairspray makes the charcoal stay in place and no longer blendable or smudge-able, so when you're happy with your piece give it a good coat but from at least 30cm away 😊 But yeah, tissue paper and build the tones rather than do one area at a time, that way it flows better.
Simply gorgeous
Thank you!
Hello i am currently doing my a level art . I need help for the personal investigation can anyone tell me where we are supposed to put bibliography because i have no clue and i need to submit my project next week ( and I'm doing CIE art; my project is on stained glass)
Good luck with it! Bibliographies usually come at the end of any document you are submitting (i.e. after your essay/research paper). Make sure to look up how to cite your sources properly! Standard APA practice is written as: author's last name, date of publication, title of source (Book/journal name), publisher's name.
@@shethemuse Thank you very much❤it's so helpful🌻
Beautiful soprano sister! 💐 love from México ❤
Thanks so much! ❤️
Beautiful
Thank you!
Wow.just Great
So beautiful 😍👍🌈🍀❤ Your voice is so beautiful. You looks like a princess. 🎁🧸🎂
Gosh thank you so much!!💖🌸 I'm planning on doing more singing soon!☺️
You’re so talented! Wow🤩
So kind of you to say! Thank you💖
What a beautiful rendition of this lied. This is the first time I hear it in it`s original version, cause I discovered it two years ago in Buenos Aires, when Martha Argerich played the arrangement by Liszt as an encore after Tchaikovsky s concert nr. 1 with Barenboim. I have an issue with Schumann, I value and recognise his genius but never really liked, but this piece almost made me cry and since then it became something I`m always coming back to. And though I love opera, I also rarely hear chamber songs. But most certainly you can make me a fan, so wonderfull you are and sing. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! This is very encouraging 😊 I hope to post more songs soon
it might sound weird but i love your hands. you look so elegant
Aw thank you so much!
did this book take the whole of year 12?
I'd say about 2/3 since I started the second project around Easter time
as a russian, i relate to this theme a lot, and i love to see projects on heritage and culture. you are very talented, and i love how your ideas all came together in an amazing final piece. this was a very interesting journey! ps. your voice is storng and so mesmirizing, it was a pleausure to just listen to you:)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Dear Maryam... My English is not good, so forgive the mistakes i my text. I've heard the song a hundred times, maybe several times... and yet, in your interpretation, somenthing caught my heart... Please: don't leave singing in your life. Because singing and you - are two things they like. If you follow that path - it will be long, sometimes difficult. And maybe after years I'll see you somewhere on stage - and I'll be able to give you a rose...
Thank you! I will definitely be keeping up my singing and I'm hoping to do more recordings during the spring!
What type of textured paper do you recommend for a final piece?
For this project I used textured wallpaper (you can find these on eBay or at charity/thrift shops), but you could also use corrugated cardboard, sandpaper, etc!
Yoooo I'm doing o level this year and this made me feel like I'm bad at art😂😂
Aww no! I've felt like this many times, but there are so many different forms of artistic expression, so try not to compare yourself and focus on what you enjoy!
Wow all your ideas are so inspiring omg I love the idea of your sculpture do you mind if I use a picture of it in my gcse art mindmap because it really correlates with my ideas about how you view others xx
Thanks so much! Sure, go for it😊
What you say isn't so good is 10,000 times better than I could do!
My photography a level is so different we don’t have that much stuff to write we only write a bit of work but our background is creative like u have to be creative with u background
I absolutely love that portrait painting, right side up or upside down it’s just stunningly beautiful! What are your plans after a level? I hope you’ll keep on uploading and sharing your wonderful work with us! 🥰😍❤️❤️💕💕😘😘xxxx
I'm so pleased to hear that, thanks so much! I'm currently at university 😊 yes, I've been planning to share more of my work, which I'll put up soon!
@@shethemuse 🥰I can’t wait to see it! Xxxx
Hi your work is amazing!! Where did you get your white pens? ❤️❤️
I just ordered them off Amazon! There's lots to choose from!
@@shethemuse Thank you 🥰
Hello! I love your sketchbook :) Is it okay if I ask which exam board you took?
Thank you! It was Edexcel
*Ugh carrying these BIG sketchbooks home is not easy.........my school uses A2* 😔
Was this your Personal Study project? Component 3?
Ah it wasn't, it was actually my final project which we were given towards the end of yr 13
You’re so talented and I love your work! I’m currently working on my Year 13 A-Level Art project (the essay based component) and I would be most grateful if you could upload or share your Year 13 portfolio. Also, do you have any tips on how to go about the essay based component?
Hi there, thanks so much! I could certainly do that once I get back from uni (early December) but for now here are some tips: 1. choose a topic you're really interested in so you don't lose interest! This project will take time and patience 2. Don't try to cover too much! I chose three artists to look at (although I referenced others in passing if needed) and analysed one of their paintings in detail. 3. Always proof-read your work before you hand it in, and try to add a bibliography at the end. Have clear headings to make it easy to read. Hope this helps!
im starting a level art next year and was wondering- do you get to pick your theme/ topic right away and basically do what you want with your art and sketch book, or is it still controlled like gcse?
It's still a bit controlled at the beginning, but after the first half term we were given much more freedom to choose our own topics x the final project does still have a 'theme' but you could take it in many directions!
Bellissima interpretazione! Like 45
Thank you so much!
thank you sm for photography ideas for chiaroscuro! that’s my topic for AS, and I was stuck for ideas! love the video! 💖
Thanks so much for your encouragement! glad I could help you💕
Maryam W ive just taken some photos and they worked out so well! thank you again 🥰
Did you use grid method?
I drew freehand, but the grid method is great! However, I would advise wearing some rubber/ plastic gloves whilst you draw out the grid because any grease from your hands would cause the charcoal to cling to it and become quite uneven! So perhaps cover your page with a base layer of charcoal first before drawing the grid to mitigate patchiness
Maryam W cool! Thank you for quick reply!
How did you achieve the skin texture with the charcoal??
I think I actually achieved that mostly using the chalk to put in subtle textural highlights! I rubbed the chalk very lightly over the paper and it enhanced the paper's natural grain which gave the effect of skin texture
Maryam W ah okay, thank you so much I will keep that in mind😊
You are so talented omgg!! I’m thinking about doing art and design for A level next year as I’m going into yr12 but i can’t decide. I prefer textiles and fashion but no sixth form near me offers textiles so I was wondering if maybe I could pick art and design but as well as the drawings I could do like sewing and textile related stuff as well as the art and design topics... Do you think that should be acceptable ? Your work is rlly good so I feel like you would help lol and thank you in advance 💖
I'm so glad you asked!! I know several friends who took both and there is a lot of overlap between 'fine art' (which I took) and textiles. You can absolutely do sewing and textile related things - one great way of combining drawings/paintings with garments is by using emulsion paint to do an image transfer (so from the paper onto the fabric). You could then sew into your transferred drawings and create really awesome textured garments - there's so many possibilities! 😄That's just one idea of how you could combine your interests xx
Omggg so talented!!!
is that A2 or A3 format sketchbook?so big
Haha it does look quite big! It's the A2 sketchbook x
I want to ask you should I must Use A2 Sketchbook in component 3? the personal study. because I just used the A3 big sketchbook? is that okay?
Yeah I used an A2 sketchbook! It depends what you are comfortable with - I don't think the examiner minds as long as you are consistent and are able to fill up the book
ahh my first alevel art lesson is next week .. your work is literally amazing
Good luck with it!! Thank you so much✨
