Fantastic review - you've captured the good, bad and indifferent superbly well. Your "glitch" has happened to me a couple of times on my Android setup - some kind of connection issue with the phone (Samsung), I think. It required a reboot, which isn't easy when riding. Frustrating, but not a deal breaker. I did have issues with the first unit I had...customer service was delayed as you say, but acceptable. They directed me to carry out a firmware update, which resulted in the unit becoming an expensive brick - completely dead! That said, they sent me a new unit immediately and completely free-of-charge, which already had the firmware update installed and it has worked fine except for the "glitches" already mentioned; they didn't ask that I return the failed unit, so it sits on a shelf in case they decided to collect. Great video. Thank you.

Just found out that the Top Case Mounting Bracket (53000800) will not fit all 2024 PAS's to mount a storage box. My bike was at dealer for install and they gave me the HD communication dated 6-26-2024. I called HD because on website it states "will fit my 2024 PAS." Small print below states 2021-2023. They stated that there may be 2024 Specials with it mounted, however, they may not cover with warranty if issue. Frustrating so went with Pazoma. I enjoy your channel.

Some dealerships act like they are doing you a favor just by having thier doors open....

I find the stock one pushes me forward to much and causes the ol twig and berries to get smashed into the tank. I've been looking at the touratech seat but it's really expensive. Have you tried any other seats since this video?

The dealership experience is one of my fears if I buy a Pan America. My first bike years ago was a Buell XB9S, and I remember multiple dealership experiences at multiple dealers where I felt like I was a second-class citizen because I was not riding a Sportster, cruiser, or heavyweight tourer.

I’m also a moto CZcamsr and was just contacted be Carpuride. I haven’t committed yet as I’m not totally familiar with their products. I’d be interested way more in front/rear facing cameras and proximity sensors. I have an old school scrambler with zero tech and worthless gages that would benefit with a similar unit. Good job on the video, you’re way more tech savvy than me.

Beware the lock mechanism can jam. Also the lock barrels can come out. Harley replaced my original pair but the replacements have gone the same way after only using them twice. Still waiting for Harley to give me an answer.

Good review, i've been using mine and really happy with it during the day. But the big problem i can not seem to get around is when using Google Maps at night. Even when i have turned the brightness all the way down and setting Google Maps to night mode, the screen is still too bright and off-putting, to the point it destroys my night vision and eyes can't adjust to the road at night as the screen is so bright and lighting me up. Have you found a way to dim the screen more or enable a night mode on the device settings? Thanks

I owned a lot of new Harley's,and most of the dealers are like this. I would never buy a new Harley from a dealer. I would probably buy used.

Just bought 2024 PA CVO. After riding it home, parked it at top of driveway, got off to move another bike in garage to a different spot to make room for PA. When I tried to stand on left peg to mount the PA, it felt awkward, little unstable since I was parked perpendicular to the street which was sloping downwards from my right to left. Another words, I was parked on a sloping road, my kickstand fully deployed and weighted by the bike. So, I went to the right side of the bike to mount, placing my left leg over the seat, then pushing myself up onto the seat. When I did so, the bike quickly fell over to left, to the ground. The kickstand simply folded up enough to let the bike tip over. I was totally surprised, and have no idea why the kickstand folded up??? Any thoughts? Apparently this PA kickstand doesn't lock as firmly as the other Harleys do.

So Harley continues to be the same piece of crap it’s always been…shoulda gotten a BMW.

Just wanted to know if you are still happy with the LR pegs. After about 2000 miles the green inserts melted. I replaced with the orange ones and they melted too. Anna at Lone Rider suggested I install the red pins. I did but they don't pivot with the red ones. Not real happy with them.

So jist looking on Amazon for this. I see they have the 702 for $250 with $30 dollar coupon. But scrolling down they're showong the "24" version for $299 with a $70 coupon. So was wondering which version is ypur video of? And if it is the "older" 7" one what's the difference between these two 7" versions?

An easy eay to hold the bike upright, what I like to do is, put yout foot on the center stand, dont push down hard enough to lift, just enough to get both center stand feet down, put your knee into the side of the seat. You can comfortably hold the bike up like this with one leg for some time.

Hey just wondering has Harley fixed that whole barely wanting start issues with the 21 PA? I've had mone for almost 3 years. Only 1400 miles on it. Have a RGS as well. But since i bought it new in Oct 21 it has had that sluggish srart with the whirring and only starting half the times it seems on first try. I didput a slip on amd a dynojet tuner on. But the other day threw all these codes. Bike would start in a high idle. Until clearing the codes could i ride it. I talked to dynojet gave him the codes. None of them are about the motor he said. He said they're all about like voltage issues. Stuff not communicating. Nothing to do with motor. Now of course hd wants to tell me im void cuz the tuner. But I've had it serviced aug 23. So supposedly all up to date and still has the crappy starting issue. What sicks is it's so damn embarrassing

Thanks for this insightful video. I purchased a 2023 Pan America about eight months ago and I have about 2k miles on it (I know, only 2k miles, but I have other Harleys to "keep happy"). So far, I have not experienced the issues you have, but I will be on the lookout for them. BTW, I took mine into Harley and they updated the engine software, but I was surprised later to learn they did not update the "infotainment" software, of which there is an update. The update does have some nice features and I was able to download the new version from Harley's website and update the display without difficulty. Thanks again.

Thank You. I have seen more issues with the tech on new Harley's. Waiting to see the Buell SuperTouring this fall. Hoping the Buell don't have tech besides some electronic shocks. The kids say the Pan Am looks like a catfish. I like the older Harley controls.

P.S. I have everything working through iplay/auto. Playing music through Bt Trans the sound quality is garbage. I tried to correct it with the EQ but it still sounds like garbage. I also can’t scroll through my playlist when in the BT trans.

I the Carpuride 702 and I followed your directions on how to set it up by pairing your phone to the headset then the Carpuride to the phone. The problem I am having is when I make a call or answer a call I can’t speak to them through my headset but I can’t hear them through the headset it goes to the phone that inside it’s holster. What am I doing wrong. Please help.

Hey Mike, I have a 2021 PAS and you had mentioned that Harley added a heat shield on the 22's and a heat deflector on the 23's. What are the part numbers and will they fit on my '21? Also, If I decide to install the Screaming eagle exhaust, will it also reduce heat? Thanks in advance.

Just thought you'd like to know I just mounted my Carpuride unit last night using my existing QuadLock system. I just unscrewed the RAM ball from the back of the unit, tapped the threads out to 5MM and bob's your uncle. It's a little far forward for my preference, but I saved myself $50 buying additonal RAM stuff to make it work.

I have the 2023 RA1250 Special and everything you say is spot on for me the Bluetooth is iffy at best and will not connect to my Cardo system so I go direct to my phone with that. One issue I have had with mine is the little warning light that comes on in the heads up display three trips to the dealership and no resolution just had it in for the 10k service and finally they say they found the problem seems the right hand control module loses communication which also causes an annoying delay on power up of the bike. Seems this is a know problem. I also have had the fuel pump issue as well and have had the bike just shut off while coming to a stop once. With all that though I love the bike and the ride. Thanks for a great video good to hear I’m not the only one with these opinions.

Great review! I got mine 2 days after order on Amazon which I also recommend for obvious reasons and I like it so far (about a week). Also useless functions for you doesn't always mean useless for everyone and maybe a longer explanation of those functions would better support your logic. You do need to get BT audio from the Carpuride unit to listen to the SD card as an issue.

Thanks for the great review. I had a couple of questions regarding functionality when the phone is the middle man and the headset and screen are connected to the phone. First question is. Ok you lose the volume function from the touchscreen, but can’t you alter that using Siri commands? 2nd question is, if I have a pillion headset paired to my headset, will they receive the navigation instructions and music? Nice review. My current issue with all these reviews is nobody mounts on a sport or sport -tourer. I have a Honda VFR and with clip ons, not handlebars. I can see mounting on the clutch/brake reservoir but this is not ideal. I actually consider this dangerous. Just for context, i have 45 states on this bike and really want it for map display. I have no intention of ever using the touch screen while riding. I also have a Cardo packtalk bold. Im taking my longest trip in a few months to Alaska and really want the additional visual beyond prompts in my ear. Any suggestions would be helpful.
