I use the 3/8 goodyear hose as a water hose because I need something more compact abd don't mind the very slightly reduced water volume. Also use it for my on board air in my truck. A few probs is they get dirty and aren't always that easy to coil up (ya I know I'm a bit of a crybaby I want everything easy wahhh). You really didn't review the flexzilla at all though I was hoping for an actual opinion between flexzilla and good year air hose as I need to buy another. I don't really trust hybrid hose only trust a real rubber hose so probably will stick with what I know works.

I'd like to point out that Sellars TOOLBOX brand shop towels aren't exclusive to Harbor Freight. They're also available at Menards, Home Depot and Lowe's. I have only used Sellars TOOLBOX shop towels before as it's the only brand sold at Menards. I have the dispenser from HF also, and I've never had an issue with it. The only way I can see an issue with the dispenser is if someone mistakenly threads it using the towels from outside the roll instead of from the center. I have it hung upside down on my shed door and another in my garage. I thought the rags didn't hold up very well the last time I used them, so I will check out the Scott brand shop towels. I think I might be able to fit the box dispenser towels into the plastic Sellars dispenser, certainly worth a try. Home Depot sells both brands with the Scott priced just a little higher on average. As an aside, Home Depot has the Sellars TOOLBOX brand white rags plastic dispenser and refills available in stores by me. The refills are cheaper than Harbor Freight by two dollars and the dispenser is cheaper by one dollar.

I've noticed the towels fall apart too when I use them. I also have the actual Scott Shop Towel brand and they don't do that.

your best option is to use Nylon or Poly Dacron instead of Polypropylene for anything you want to last and have strength

Polyester rope is the most UV resistant and longest lasting for outdoor use.

I've been searching for a couple of years for a decent countersink to debur and bevel the edges of holes drilled in steel. Normally I resort to using a much larger twist drill bit than the hole I'm drilling and use the large bit as a countersink. Last week I did buy some of the Harbor Freight countersinks just hoping to get a use or two out of them in a pinch.....and that's about exactly what I got. In all my searching the best value I've found is the tungsten countersink burrs from Benchmark Abrasives. They are sold on Amazon or directly from their site. They are the only countersinks I've found that last more than a couple of holes and the price seems reasonable. Any other recommendations would be appreciated...

I agree- you have to shop around to find tools that will do the job. I have a set of those HF countersink bits but they don't work very well. I don't know if it is a problem with hardness, I think either they don't come sharp enough or they have a bad shape. My little DeWalt countersinks work very well, never had to worry about sharpening them. Maybe I'll try sharpening the HF bits. I just use them on wood so maybe they could last longer.

If their countersunk bits I like the other ones I've used from China they're pretty bad for wear and tear... But if you get them cheap I suppose that doesn't matter

I’m glad you made this topic. I’ve always got the bags of black ties, big bag variety at harbor freight and they been great until the last time I went in.. I’ve bought several bags and they have been breaking. Also nail clippers work great for chopping the ties flush with no sharp bits. I wonder how the ties at ACE are?

On the restocking fee, if the item is broke and you are just exchanging it they don't do the restocking fee. I have been in that spot with a drain snake. I have the handheld corded Bauer and the manual feed blue one. I had to warranty out the Bauer and they just gave me a new one. No fee and I did get the option to buy a new extended warranty. I have also know people that have a solid relationship with there stores and the manager waved the restocking fee but that is a case by case so again the moral of the story is to be nice to your managers and it could pay off. When the managers at my two favorite stores aren't busy I try to tell them how much the latest deal or bargain helped me. Full disclosure my brother doesn't have the same experience at the one near him but the managers barely give the time of day and he has trouble seeing items restocked regularly.

You hit the nail on the head with this one. I wish Amazon and other retailers would limit reviews and ratings to verified purchases. Walmart ratings/reviews are really bad in this regard.

I bought the 500lb table and had the problem of the table not going down when the handle was squeezed. Being familiar with hydraulic pumps and rams, I did not read their instructions on bleeding, merely added fluid and bled the air out. But the table would barely creep down when the handle was depressed. Me and a friend picked the table up and placed it on my workbench. I put the table up and locked the release handle to the full down position. Next was to check how far the swivel mechanism was depressing the plunger when the handle was depressed. I then pushed a common screw driver between the swivel and plunger and levered the plunger further down. The table top started coming down at a very nice rate. I then adjusted the cable ends to the extreme out position and the top comes down at a rapid rate (just fast enough for me). I have also heard (and experienced) about models with the rubber plug on the oil fill being extremely hard to get back in. When I had the table on the bench, the plug was removed and the level checked. Afterwards I took some sandpaper and rounded the very bottom edge where in would just fit in the hole. As I was reinstalling the plug, I noticed inside the whole there appeared to be two of three threads. I then put the plug into the hole and instead of trying pushing it in, I screwed it in and it went right in with no hassles. I think the manufacturer would have a lot less returns if they would just go over possible problems in the manual (and have an english speaking engineer write them), as most are easy fixes. Of course you are paying for it to perform properly out of the box, but, in many cases fixing small problems are easier that a return and possible wait for another one.
