Is zoologist actually a job in? If so where can i find jobs? Please lemme know cause I'm a zoology student who don't know where to go.. P.s: just subscribed you now
Yes, being a Zoologist is an important job working with animals 🙌 You can find out more about routes into Zoology on the GetMyFirstJob website here (copy+paste): www.getmyfirstjob.co.uk/?TabID=1358&id=264&occupation=zoologist#:~:text=Zoologist%20apprenticeships%20%2D%20what%20you%27ll%20do&text=You%27ll%20usually%20specialise%20in,or%20paleozoology%20(fossil%20remains).
Wtf please don't give wrong information you cannot become Archeologist with geography you will need to be graduate from B.A in history or Anthropology then only you can apply for MA in Archeology After MA in Archeology you can become an Assistant Archeologist but still you have qualify UPSC or SPSC exam to Become a Senior Archeologist.
This was just a short video to help people understand the wide variety of career routes available to them if they like studying a particular subject. This wasn't specifically aimed at university or post-grad education. It's true that most archaeologists also have a post-grad qualification, and specialising in an area like conservation, environmental archaeology, human evolution, forensic investigation, or archaeological science is highly recommended. But, as archaeology is a broad subject, studying subjects such as geography, history, social sciences, and biology, etc. (pre-university) will also be useful and help demonstrate your interest/passion. ☺
What can I do after ba geography? and which course is best after ba geography?
Which course is 'best' for you really depends on your own values and what you would like from your future (more money, job satisfaction, work-life balance, feeling like your job has purpose, etc.) so it would be wrong of us to give a blanket statement as everyone is different. However, you could use the roles listed here as a starting point to explore other opportunities on the GetMyFirstJob website, for example 😄
How hard is it to get a level 6?
Level 6 degree apprenticeships can be quite competitive, but it really depends on the employer, the location, and what the role is 👍
As degree apprenticeships are seeming to become more competitive, how likely is it that I might be competing for the same apprenticeship role against someone with a higher than level 3 qualification such as someone who already has a degree? Also do companies have preferences towards which course you study in order to be accepted as an degree apprentice in their company?
Great questions! Firstly, there's a rule that you can only do an apprenticeship (including a degree apprenticeship) in an area that you don't already have a degree in. That means that if you're applying for a degree apprenticeship in, let's say, cybersecurity, candidates who already have a degree in that specialism or anything closely related are not eligible. People who studied a subject such as History, for example, would be eligible. I don't have any statistics to hand on the number of people that go from studying a regular degree to a degree apprenticeship, and while it is possible, it would be an incredibly small percentage. 👍 And for your second point, unlike on UCAS where you apply for multiple universities all with the same application, you have to apply for degree apprenticeships individually. You can either do this through each employers' career websites, or on a partner site like GetMyFirstJob that compiles them all together to make it easier (with the bonus of application support throughout the process). ☺The employer will typically have an agreement with an education provider or university to do the training side of your apprenticeship, so you may not have a choice on the specific university or degree you're on (it will usually be listed in the job description), but you won't have to pay any tuition fees and will still graduate with an equal qualification (and more work experience and a salary!) than those who do. Hope this helps and good luck! 😄
Can I get it for free?
Yes, apprenticeships don't cost you anything in the UK. Unlike university, you actually get paid while you learn, as you'll also be working full-time 😊
How many years does it take?
Level 7 apprenticeships typically take 2-3 years to complete on average, but it differs between qualifications and employers. It will most likely always be mentioned in the job description 😊
What is level 4? Two year apprenticeship.
A Level 4 apprenticeship is equivalent to a Higher National Diploma and can take anywhere between 1-5 years to complete. You'll be working for 80% of the time, and studying for the other 20%. You'd likely need Level 3 qualifications (A Levels, BTECs, NVQs, etc.) to get accepted onto one, unless you are retraining and have the appropriate level of transferable experience. Hope that helps! 😊

How many degree apprenticeships are available for engineering in the UK (you can give an estimate)
It isn't easy to estimate how many there would be in the UK since employers will all post vacancies at different times, but there were 46,800 people who started a Level 6 or 7 apprenticeship in 2022/2023. So it wouldn't be anymore than this, but engineering is a popular degree apprenticeship choice and the numbers continue to rise each year 😊
Wow thank you. Also when you said 2022/2023, did you mean one ‘batch’ of students, or all the students who got in for both years
@@kidkid6188 The 2022/2023 year is referring to the academic year, presumably from Sep 2022 to Aug 2023, so that's just everyone who started any type of degree or Level 7 Higher apprenticeship within that timeframe 😊

What
Do the level 7 apprentice have a graduation ceremony like uni students ? If your'e training provider isn't a uni ? Thank you!
While Level 7 apprenticeships are the equivalent to a Masters degree, they are Higher or Professional apprenticeships so may not provide a 'university-style' graduation ceremony. However, it is common for employers/training providers to host celebrations and graduations themselves - it is a massive achievement to complete a Level 7 apprenticeship, after all - but it will vary between employers and training providers 😊
Where can i find these level 7 apprenticeships
You can either find them on the GetMyFirstJob website, through the GOV.UK apprenticeships website, or by looking up individual employers you're thinking of working for and seeing if they have any apprenticeship schemes on their websites 😊
@@getmyfirstjobofficial thank you
If I'm trying to study accounting at LSE or computer science at Cambridge/Oxford, will they respect a level 3 accounting apprenticeship compared to a maths/further maths A level?
When considering degrees for unis such as LSE and Oxbridge, we'd recommend looking at the entry criteria within the course pages on their websites or contacting them directly for admissions questions, as you'll be able to find a lot of info there 😊
Poor guy. Wants out of life
In the context of this video, he definitely wants out of uni... 👀
Gay
There's nothing wrong with that 😊
Lots of jobs don't really require a level 4 or above education. That kind of education is expensive to companies for apprenticeships and there's lots of people who you can learn off when going to work plus training courses. Practictical Experience in the end trumps theoretical education. Personally i think that the number of universities should be cut down and the remaining few should be more difficult to get into. There's too many courses and universities these days, the courses that should be taught would offer increased earning potential and practical uses to society.
You raise some really interesting points here! We think there's definitely a case for Level 4 apprenticeships and above to remain in place - specifically because many roles require advanced knowledge and expertise, from law, to journalism, to medicine and more. But we absolutely agree that practical experience trumps purely theoretical education. 💪 In an ideal world, a large number of people may decide to go to university purely to learn something new, follow an interest, or gain a better understanding of the world, but the vast majority of people ultimately use it as a means to an end for getting a job. Subject variety is important and fantastic - the more choices and routes we can choose from, the better - but employability, skills, and transferable knowledge should always be emphasised by UCAS and universities when it comes to promoting them. 😄
Still have a question can someone become an explorer by studing geography
There aren't technically any official qualifications you'd need to become an explorer, but Geography will definitely help teach you about the Earth and our habitats, as well as help fuel your passion for sure 💪
Can i do a level 3 apprenticeship then do a level 6 apprenticeship after or do i have to do a levels?
A Level 3 apprenticeship would be the equivalent of taking A Levels, so you can absolutely go from a Level 3 to a Level 6 apprenticeship. Checking to see the entry requirements on job listings for Level 6 apprenticeships will be crucial, though 😊
U mom
Y tho
I am from India last year completed my A levels and want to do level 6 degree apprenticeship anywhere in United kingdom or United States. Do i eligible to apply ?
To complete a level 6 degree apprenticeship in the UK, you'll need to have 'Right To Work' status and a supporting visa. You can learn more about this through the UCAS website, but it's also crucial to look at individual Level 6 degree apprenticeship vacancies to look at what their exact requirements are. If you have any questions based on that, then you can email them for more information/clarification 😄
this will be me when its 2023/27th/October
Do you go to University with a lvl 5 degree apprenticeship, if so what are the UCAS point requirements? Thanks
Level 5 apprenticeships are a type of 'Higher apprenticeship,' so you won't be studying at a university for these ones - those are for Level 6 'Degree apprenticeships' and upwards. For Level 5, you'll typically need Level 3 qualifications or above (A Levels, BTECs, NVQs, Level 3 Apprenticeships, etc.). For more on Level 6 Degree apprenticeships, we have another video on our channel you can search for to learn more ☺

Well technically you could take a 4 week summer holiday, as you usually get 4 weeks holiday a year in the uk.
That's very true - but that will really depend on the type of job you have and where you work, as there could be certain summer weeks or months that everyone may need to work due to 'business needs' 🌞
What do you mean "anymore?" That has not ever been a thing, has it?

Do I apply to Uni and DAs separately? And if I am applying to the Uni, is it part-time?
Yes, the application processes for going to university and completing a degree apprenticeship are different. The 'standard' university route (3/4-year full-time course, longer if part-time) still requires you to submit one personal statement on UCAS for up to 5 different universities, all ideally within the same field/subject. You will apply for a degree apprenticeship in the same way that you apply for a normal job; submitting an application that will usually include a CV and cover letter. Employers advertise their degree apprenticeships throughout the year, and you can find and apply for all the latest ones on our GetMyFirstJob website. 😁
