Nice job, real pain to work on those big lumps.
Fires up a Spitfire and some old Rush. Nice!
How do you know what plate goes on the left side or right side of the the car ? They are not labeled.
Hi long shot but do you recall the tube diameter for the engine mounts?? Also did you need to brace the shock turrets at all? Thanks and a great set of videos btw
I can’t remember the diameter of the engine mounts at this time. I did brace the shock turrets to the engine as well.
Where did you get the American flag decal that's on the roof of the car?
It was custom printed for the car at a local wrap shop!
My 07 4.7 towed my 3/4ton 40 miles home bout 7500 trailer an all did fine with break control just slow
5:33 ... yes to Scamp video. 🙂
i wish i had your talent.. Im about to acquire a 1976 spitfire that i owned back in 1983.. I need to do some work on it.. I dont know what im in for lol
I have a green CT1 as well! Not as nice as yours, but love those little bikes
Yea these little 175s are awesome! Trust me mine is not very nice, camera makes it look better lol
Brilliant video. I have a 1973 ts250. I am struggling to find a steering damper and a 6 volt sealed beam head light for it. Would you have any ideas on where to get them? I live in England
eBay is going to be the best place I can think of! I’m going to be releasing a video on sealed beams hopefully on Friday so it might help you!
Good to see you back 🙂
Good luck stick
Perhaps I should have left it in it…
Why don't you turn that annoying fucking "music" off?
Seems to vary from platform to platform. I try to turn it down a lot because it’s odd when there’s no background noise. But I’ll turn it down even more for the next video.
@@misplacedgarage Do what you like I won't be watching it.
Hi.
He found a stick.
what did you do with the loose connectors that connected to the ac and the condenser?
Another YT video did this too. They upgraded the rear brakes to a Taurus so the rears increased in piston size to help keep the same f/r bias. Front upgrade alone moves the bias forwards.
Yes this is correct! I have yet to do that but my understanding is once you upgrade the rears you must also upgrade the master cylinder as the mustang one doesn't move enough fluid.
@@misplacedgarage Very good point on the Master. Other video did not really address that. Would matching the Mater form the Cadillac to the front calipers be a direction worth considering?
@@gmarch4618 that I’m unsure, not sure it would fit. That’s about where my research stopped. Haven’t looked too much further, if you come up with any good info LMK!
The Chevy Colorado you could get a 5.3 v8 and it came with four doors lol
I had that exact bike purchased new in 1973. My buddy bought the green model. Together we painted my Grandmothers house and used the earnings to buy them. I’m pretty sure they were somewhere around $700 each. What a blast that bike was. Had to let it go when I got married a few years later. Still in my dreams occasionally.
I hardly use my aircon in the summer, and the heater doesn't work properly. Might pull it out. If I can be bothered.
I just LOVE seeing young men turning wrenches, LEARNING and solving problems! THIS is what ALL young people need to do. Get OFF the phones and go discover the electro-mechanical world around you.
Got my Vauxhall since 5 years with an worn a/c compressor, so while i was cleaning the intercooler i decided to remove the condenser to let my intercooler Breath a low bit ! 😷
I want to suggest a Manual impact driver with the JIS bits.
Great job!
Just took my new to me car to get re gassed to find out it’s missing a couple ac pipes 😅
for the shifter location. i don't know miata gearboxes at all. but i see it does have a shift rail. on ford T9 gearbox swaps the shifter is also where yours is with the miata gearbox. but, on the T9 trans the shift rail can be shortened and the tail shaft cut to match and then rewelded back in place. if i'm not clear here you can google up ford T9 shortened shifter mod on google to see what i mean. it's a fairly straightforward modification on the T9... which on just a glance looks like it could be done your miata trans.
Needed that screwdriver just now. Had to weld nuts on the screws cuz they were rusted tight. Got em out. Need new bolts now.
Great progess, well done.
I'd be inclined to put in larger bolts for the seat belts. The ones I've seen in most cars are bigger than that. Just measured some spares of what went in the Miata, they were 3/8" diameter.
Those are rather large bolts probably around 3/8s. I also added a double nut and a very large washer of the bottom. Should be pretty “safe” ;)
@@misplacedgarage They didn't look that big to me on video. Carry on. 🙂
It won't be long before you will be driving it.
Well done!
Hey buddy 😊
I have the same car in the same colour, I'll bet that's gonna be one heck of an upgrade when its done, Ive always wished mine had a bit more power and one more gear
I’m hoping so! It feels like it’s got more power just at idle
Nice car. You have to really love them to do that much work. Some people don't understand.
Thank you! That’s Forsure, a labor of love.
@@misplacedgarage I have a '72 with an LSJ. Most people love it, some hate it. "Should have just bought a Miata". Those people don't understand.
Right on! It definitely would’ve been easier to start with a Miata. But there’s something about the 70s styling that’s just so cool.
Nice vid. I just blew a head gasket in my 2003 Cobra…I wasn’t sure if head removal was possible without dropping the k member (as many online forums suggest), but your video gave me hope. Not looking forward to removing drivers side head, but better than pulling to whole motor. Good job.
It’s a major pain but do able. Unbolt most of the brake system. I actually have to do it again because the driver side started seeping some coolant and I don’t want to risk it. Don’t forget to plug the sensor back in behind the drivers head it’ll immobilize the car if you don’t.
Torque specs? Hard to find.
Nice vintage 2 stroke Suzuki that as you mentioned with some work and parts it should become almost at 90 percent good, you have great looks to where you would do great as a model for G Q magazine with modeling sharp cool presentations over in Milan Italy perhaps getting to Paris France. ❤
I love to see that at least one member of the next generation of this family knows which end of a hammer to hold. 🙂
Yep the Prince of Darkness knows all the tricks on old British sports cars. At least the wires are thick unlike modern cars. Got similar problems except I have a grp bonnet so no easy earth ing points Great work..
Yea that’s pretty much the only benefit is the thick wires. I still tried to remove as much old wiring as possible haha
What site are you ordering the driveshaft from? I need to order one for my spitfire project! Also excellent work, super excited for it!
The Driveshaft shop! Waiting back on a quote.
@@misplacedgarage awesome can’t wait lol. Thank you!
I love that year and model also. However, I prefer it in green.
Fair! I’m a big fan of orange so I’m happy and kinda get the best of both worlds with the green stripe. It’s not neon green tho.
The lights are on...😀
The seat will lower if you push down on the seat adjuster. I have the same truck.
hey brother any luck on the f7 i have one aswell and i want to get it running
I’m afraid I ended up selling that one because I didn’t quite have the time for that large of a project. But I did get it running for a little bit.
i will to that to my 87 fiero , for the same reeasons . better cooling weight savings more room and maybe put in a built in air compressor for shits and giggles
A spring connects the brake light switch to the pedal.
From what I can tell you’re correct! Some Bikes have a rod with a spring attached on one side.
@@misplacedgarage Yes. It is a spring. I looked it up. I even tried to reply with the Suzuki part number, but you tube blocks it. Thanks youtube!
@@misplacedgarage There is a spring right now up for auction on you know who. $7.95 + Shipping.
Excellent! Thank you for looking out!
So awesome nice job Mason !!!! Love the old school bikes.
Thanks man!
I'm so excited!!
Hey i love to see it! Any way you could comment or send me the links to parts for this job? I would love to do this on my Dakota!
Its been awhile since I did this now. But I highly recommend not adding a leveling kit to your 3rd gen unless its a 2wd. mine immediately started to have issues so I removed it.
Everything rattles around driving a spitfire my friend, these were built 5minutes from my house , Canley classic love um 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Best bit of information was remembering to remove the clip! Great job
