@@jamesgreig5930 Hi Jim - yep it's running just as good as it did the day it was installed 11 years ago. hard to believe I know but honestly it is. Not spent a single penny on servicing or maintenance in that time - because it's just a fridge turned inside out. How long do fridges last ? = ages! Our installer was a Glasgow company, they are still in business but they don't do this system any longer as far as I know. Solar Electricity Systems (Springhill Parkway, Glasgow). Luckily we have not had to call on them anyway. A recent comment dropped in a name of a company in Ireland that install: LVP renewables in Republic of Ireland. @@mauriceshapero7200 Hiya. Using automated tools? Found most of those to be useless. I have some vidz that show how I work from point clouds - there's no shortcuts I have found, I promise I would be using them if they were worth using.

@@emmockladdie yep, I've worked with point clouds a few times over the years and found them to be difficult every time! Is it possible to clip the point cloud in Autocad? Or is it best to do it as you do in your video - clip and export in Recap Pro? Another question I can't seem to find anything on is making a mesh from the point cloud - do you ever do this? Thank you again.

@@mauriceshapero7200 hi, clipping is easy in autocad - file must be .RCS though. Can be tempting to copy the cloud and have lots of clips but then you risk a nasty crash. A couple of clips is ok ... Don't risk more. Recap pro is offering meshing again as a service - they email you when it's ready. Generates a crazy amount of triangles, very poor smoothness. I will dig out a couple of videos and post links as a new reply to you.

Making a model of a maternity suite at a local hospital - these are videos from a class that aren't public on CZcams - just because they are a bit rougher. Majorly ori minorly different? Only by me watching a video of what you are doing could I answer your question fully. Same object snaps? Ortho off? Grid snapping off? Could be all sorts of slight differences influencing final result.

Hi. If you try to put in a dimension it will need scaled up because point clouds are life size. Command DIMSCALE enter 200 enter. Then try drawing your dimension - the number should be readable. If that was not your question get back to me.

Yeah last year. They've streamlined the compressor unit on the side. Other than that they haven't changed. I'm in contact with the UK and Republic of Ireland licensed suppliers.

Ours is only into the hot water supply. Central heating is separate so I can't answer for sure Johnny. I think you would need a very large accumulator tank to do a whole house heating with this type of system. Good to see my old mate Sid there. Viz rools!

It has been so reliable and economical that should it fail, I would have the same system again in the blink of an eye. Portuguese tech that none of our greedy b*****d energy companies have their mits on.

I know man. It's such a simple idea. Fridges/freezers run for years, low power and zero maintenance apart from the odd defrost. The heat from the back of the fridge is wasted energy. If I was more of an engineer I would definitely be making my own systems. We are a bit on the experimental side. I am gonna get more photovoltaics and some kind of battery - things are moving a lot in that direction. Near us farmers are leasing their fields to battery storage companies to store some of the offshore wind turbine power. Tealing Grid Sub-station ... It's a massive thing. Pylons, underground cables, etc. Seagreen have brought a cable to it 5 miles cross country from where the cable comes to land at Carnoustie. Green electricity is the future but none of us are going to be able to afford any ... Gotta make your own.

Hi Adel Cost was £5500 10 years ago, no idea how much they are now. Govt would not give it MSC certification (too radical at the time) therefore it's never been included in systems you could get grants for. Works just as good as it did the day it was installed, efficiency is a about 2:1. Uses about 2 units of electricity per day to run. We have 4 living here now, 2 of whom enjoy long showers (grrr!) so we just leave it on 24/7 as it takes a good few hours to replenish 200 litre tank once they have drained it. Not spent a single penny on maintenance or servicing since installed. Gas/oil companies do not like competition. Less moving parts than an air source heat pump. Both make noise btw - compressors - hence in loft on solid, vibration resistant base. No regrets, would install again tomorrow if I had to.
