    Boats can be like a School, and the lessons you learn greatly affect what you start looking for in your Next Sailboat, Sometimes the lessons can be pretty Dramatic too, for example, the massive one that relatively recently for me, threw Out the one word which had Shaped the acquisition of all my Prior Sailboats which in one word is- Bluewater- admittedly this has really Firmed up necessities due to being Disabled . Things I don't like any longer are Classic Masts with Lazy Jacks Ketch Rigs and Twin Forestay Cutters, and Centre Cockpit boats (like living in a Sauna in the Tropics, almost as bad as fully glazed Deck Saloon Greenhouses, with very few exceptions, and any Sailboat with aspirations leaning towards Sailboat Racing. So Twin Rudders arent just out, they are right out, and with them go tripping hazard Mainsheet Tracks in the Cockpit. For some strange reason some people have hypnotised themselves into thinking Twin Rudders are somehow wonderful. Why they arent is covered in the description replacing "Bluewater" - Comfortable Liveaboard Aft Cockpit Cruising Sailboat. I don't know if youre getting one, but after thankfully trying one before buying, and desperately attempting to like Catamarans after being very taken by Rosie Swales adventures with one, I rapidly was forced to conclude that Catamarans Really Hate me😅 That motion when one hull hits a wave before the other one ? I always described as a Corcscrew Motion, but SV Tonic Boatwives, delivering a Lagoon 51 I think it was, delivering it to the Mediterranean, after leaving the Bay of Biscay got hit with it, and I think what they called it was more apt - Like a Bucking Bronco. Fortunately, and probably because I'd used a preventstive half a Stugeron Seasick tablet I wasn't sick, but it really messed my head up . Plus Generally, Catamarans Suck for upwind Sailing. So I've stuck with Monohulls. Aft Cockpit means Sugarscoop or Bathing platform, which for me is a secure Dock, for easy access on and off the Tender, and into the Cockpit Great for an Arch for Solar Panels , Davits and wind generator too. Plus when at anchor which Cruisers spend about 80% of their time on, With Sun and bad weather protection Dodger and Bimini, yo have the most used Room on the Boat. Bliss to stretch out in. As an aside, the aft Cockpit with Pad Eyes and Jack lines is just as safe as a Centre Cockpit, just make clipping in with safety lines a good habit. as you are on the companionway, before entering the Cockpit? Hoping you are both doing ok, Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob in Wales. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️❤

    Hi Luke. We hope you are both well. I have a question. We are coming to the Med in October. We are interested in a 373. Can you share what you did not like? Or her downsides? We understand the size is smaller but looking for what didn’t you like about her as a liveaboard. Thanks Kellie

    • @brownnoise357
      @brownnoise357 Před 9 měsíci

      Not got an answer yet. I hope they are OK. I've been seriously looking into the 373, as a Shoal draft one at first appeared to fit my needs, but if Sailing the Med permanently and only it really doesn't matter much, but you have to remember the 373 is a Light displacement boat, and can be a bit uncomfortable as a result, as swells come into Bays and such - which is why I really need a Shoal Draft Sailboat, as withbthe home Waters around the UK, there are some important Small Bays to tuck into that have low tide water depths of 6 ft pretty close to shore safe from Storms, so for me, I need a maximum Draft of 5 ft. If I get the boat across the Atlantic, even with 5 ft you have to take extra Care in places like the Bahamas, ICW, etc. though the leverage effect moments with a 5 ft are still well within very decent safety margins for keel bolt stretch and such, and any issues should be easy to spot at annual haulouts and not wildly expensive to repair. Overall though, as a Coastal Cruiser, the 373 is a really cracking Sailboat, and once Comfort issues are given some perspective there don't seem to be any really serious zdownsides. tbh, with a very careful route is selected to cross the Atlantic, at the right time of year, and the proper preparation, even an Atlantic Crossing could be great fun. Hope that helps, though I'm personally considering something a bit bigger, with a bit more displacement now, as a tide me over boat before putting in an order for a new Island Packet because - Comfort. Best Wishes and Best of Luck finding a great Boat. Bob in Wales. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️❤️

    I have been to a lot of beautiful locations around the world over the years, including some of the big comercial cities and islands, but have never revisited any of them, apart from the 'glorious Ibiza'. It is an underrated and in many cases an 'overexposed' island due to its commercial and clubbing aspects. (although I have also previously enjoyed this aspect also of the island too). I got married there in the wonderful, scenic Hacienda Na Xamena in 2010. Putting this to one side, it is the most beautiful, magical, 'soul awakening and chilled places that I have ever visited and continue to visit over the past 22 years. I feel that I have grown with it...seeing it before the motorways with just dirt roads, super marinas, beach walkways, and Manumission was the main superclub and cafe del mar was the place to sit on the rock to see the sunset. It is great to see the islands government are putting the tourists money back into the island and that it will continue to the islands growth and improvements, also from a nature preservation point of view. I will continue to visit this wonderful place with the sometimes sad but also happy memories it hold for me. Just a wonderful place.

    Hello. New to your channel and plan on being on Sicily next month with MDR being on the top of my list. Quick question: I plan on having a folding bike and am wondering how safe it is there bikewise (crime / traffic / dicey roads) and how feasible is it for a healthy person to bike the hill to Ragusa or take a bike the municipal bus? Do they have storage racks on the front of the bus as in some countries? Would it have to be in a bag to go inside the bus with me? Also wondering about local labor rates to get repairs done / quality of the chandelry.

Ich hoffe ihr habt nicht zu günstig verkauft, im Moment : der normalpreis + 20 % = verkaufspreis Ich hoffe ihr findet einen schönen Kat I'm not surprised that your boat has sold so quickly. At the moment the market for "smaller" boats is empty. Thanks to Covid :( I know brokers who have a waiting list, as far as I know, that has never existed.
